A straight quote for the rug off the ridge
Seven Hills owners usually have one or two rugs chosen carefully, not a houseful bought in a hurry. Send through the size and fibre if you know it, and after inspection we give you one firm figure and a plain opinion on whether the rug warrants it.
- 1The driver collects the rolled rugRolled on the porch by the reserve is plenty

I did not want to risk a home clean on the shaggy rug. The shaggy rug came back fresher, softer and ready to use again in the hallway.

Rug Cleaning in Seven Hills, the Suburb That Kept Its Bush
A ridge suburb that kept its bush
Seven Hills did something rare for a suburb 6 km from the city: it kept more than 50 hectares of its own bushland. The streets wrap around the reserve, post-war timber homes and low-set 1950s and 60s brick, many renovated, on ridge lines that catch the breeze, and the blocks backing the trees are the addresses nobody sells.
The reserve gives as well as takes.
One or two good rugs, not many cheap ones
Households here tend to own one or two good wool rugs rather than many cheap ones, sitting on timber floors that show every change in the light. It is exactly the kind of rug ownership our trade was built for. This is also a suburb with an eye for craft, the old D'Arcy Road art college trained printmakers and animators for a generation, and careful hands are noticed here.
What the westerlies leave behind
Every dry westerly lifts fine grit off the bush and carries it indoors, where it works down through rug pile to the base of the weave, past the reach of any vacuum, and slowly flattens the colour. Our fix has been the same through 29 years of trading: the rug travels to our Yatala facility, goes into a full immersion wash where water moves through the weave itself, and the dust that took years to accumulate leaves in an afternoon. IICRC-certified process, controlled drying, and a rug that comes home brighter than its owners remember buying it.

What gives Seven Hills its character
A forest inside the boundary, an art school reborn, and the school that grew with the streets.
More than 50 hectares of ridgeline eucalypt forest and walking tracks held inside the suburb's own boundary.
The reserve is why many owners bought here, and its dust is why their rugs need us: what the westerlies carry in settles at the base of the pile until a full wash lifts it out.
The track network, taking in the Seven Hills Circuit, Ridge Track and Gully Track, climbs through regenerating dry eucalypt forest with glimpses of the city skyline from the high points. The main trailhead sits at the end of Latina Avenue, and the circuit takes most walkers under an hour, which is why locals treat it as a daily loop rather than an outing.
The old art college on D'Arcy Road, remade as a creative precinct around the 162-seat Ron Hurley Theatre.
A suburb that trained Queensland's printmakers has an educated eye for craft, and craft is what we sell: rugs washed by hand, step by step, at our own facility.
The site taught trades from 1972 and then housed the Queensland College of Art, running printmaking, metal-smithing, animation and film courses before the college moved to South Bank. Brisbane City Council has since rebuilt it as the Seven Hills Hub, with studios, an outdoor amphitheatre beside Griffith Place Park and the Ron Hurley Theatre at its core.
The 1960 primary school that grew up with the post-war streets around it.
The school-gate households of Seven Hills keep our inner-east truck busy: living room rugs under daily family load, collected rolled and brought back on the standard 7 day cycle.
The school opened in 1960 as housing filled the ridges, and within its first decade part of the adjoining land was taken for the technical college that later became the art school. It remains small enough that families know each other from the gate, which is much of the suburb's appeal.

The questions Seven Hills asks first
Why does our wool rug look flat and grey when it is not stained?
Almost always dust. Homes near the bushland reserve take in fine grit with every dry wind, and it settles at the base of the pile where it blunts both the colour and the feel. A full immersion wash removes it and the difference is immediate.
What is the price for rug cleaning in Seven Hills?
We quote per rug after inspecting it, using size, fibre and condition. The number does not move once given, and if a rug does not merit professional washing we say so plainly instead of booking it in.
Can our neighbours in Norman Park or Camp Hill add rugs to the pickup?
Easily. Both share the Seven Hills collection day along with Carina and Morningside, and grouped rugs each earn the $20 discount that applies beyond the first piece.
The rug was expensive. What guarantees the result?
Twenty-nine years of doing this and an IICRC certification stand behind every wash, and the re-wash guarantee closes the loop: raise any concern inside the first 48 hours back home and the wash is repeated free.
How long does the whole process take?
Seven days is the normal rhythm from doorstep to doorstep. When timing is tight, a 48-hour express can be booked for an extra charge.
Can dog urine really be washed out of a wool rug?
Yes, provided the dye and backing are still sound, because the smell lives where the urine settled, in the foundation. Supermarket sprays perfume the surface and leave the source in place. Immersion flushes it out of the weave entirely, and if the rug is past helping, that verdict costs you nothing.
