We assess what was spilt and test the rug's fibre and dyes for colour-fastness, so we know exactly which solution and method are safe for this spot.

Lift the Residue

We gently blot and lift as much of the spill as possible from the outer edge inwards — never scrubbing — to stop the mark spreading deeper into the pile.

Targeted Treatment

A fibre-safe, pH-appropriate solution is worked into the spot to break down the stain, with enzymatic treatment for protein and pet marks where needed.

Spot cleaning is a quick, targeted treatment of one spill or mark on an otherwise clean rug. A full wash is a complete immersion clean of the whole rug at our Yatala facility. Spot cleaning is ideal for fresh accidents; a full wash is for set stains, all-over soiling or a general refresh.
Blot — never scrub — from the outside of the spill inwards with a clean, light-coloured cloth to lift as much as you can. Avoid hot water and supermarket spotters, which can set the stain or damage the fibre, then call us so we can treat it correctly before it sets.
Sometimes. Fresh spills respond best to spot treatment; once a stain has set it is harder to shift and may need a full immersion wash, or it may be permanent. We will inspect it and give you an honest assessment of what can be achieved.
Wool and synthetic rugs generally spot clean well. Silk and viscose (art-silk) are far more delicate — they brown and weaken when wet — so we treat those spots in a controlled way or recommend washing the rug at our facility rather than risking DIY spotting.
