What will the family rug cost to fix?

Grass stains from Tigers training, chlorine drips, a dog with opinions. Send the size and the story through the form. The rug is inspected, the price is fixed before washing starts, and when a rug does not justify the money, you hear that from us first.

Rug Washing in Carina, Where the Rugs Work Hard

One thousand Housing Commission homes

From 1950 the Housing Commission built exactly 1,000 homes in Carina, fibro, chamferboard and weatherboard on stumps, and private estates filled the gaps while the tram still ran out Old Cleveland Road. Most of those houses stand today, renovated, floors sanded back, walls opened up, and in nearly every living room a rug that catches whatever the week throws: training mud, swim bags, the dog after a creek walk.

Autumn damp off Creek Road

The flat streets toward Creek Road hold damp after rain, and a rug on boards over a shaded under-floor space wicks that moisture into its backing, which is why we field musty-rug calls from Carina every autumn.

An honest opinion at inspection time, even when that opinion is that the rug does not justify the cost.

The same wash, 29 years of it

The answer is the same wash we have given Brisbane rugs for 29 years: full immersion at the Yatala facility, controlled drying to the core. Sport mud lets go in the bath, grass stains meet the right chemistry, and the dog's contribution comes out at the source.

Rug Cleaning Carina

Cleaning for the renovated chamferboard homes the Housing Commission built and families remade. The lounge rug that catches training mud, swim bags and the dog gets collected rolled, washed fully and returned ready for another season.

Most Carina rugs are honest working pieces, wool and synthetic, carrying the full record of family life. One wash a year keeps the record from becoming permanent.

  • Post-war home specialists
  • The full record washed out
  • Ready for another season

Rug Washing Carina

Full immersion washing at Yatala that reaches below the pile, where sport-field grit and creek-walk dust settle. The rug is flushed at the foundation, rinsed clean and dried to the core before coming home.

Surface methods move dirt around; the bath removes it. Colours come back, the flattened traffic lane lifts, and the rug feels like it did in the shop.

  • Grit gone from the base
  • Traffic lanes revived
  • Dried to the core
Most popular

Stain Removal

Sports drink, grass stains, mud from Saturday and gravy from Sunday. Weekly-life stains get named, given the treatment each one calls for, and then the rug is washed end to end so the fix blends invisibly.

Grass and mud respond well to correct treatment at the wash stage. Anything that will not fully release is named at inspection, not discovered on the invoice.

  • Weekend stains handled
  • Correct chemistry, full wash
  • Named upfront, not after

Pet Stain and Odour

The family dog crosses the rug forty times a day and occasionally leaves more than footprints. Immersion washing removes urine and dander from the backing where they actually live, and the smell leaves with them.

Accidents that soaked in months ago still respond, because the source is still down there feeding the smell. The bath removes it; drying keeps it gone.

  • Old accidents still fixable
  • Backing washed, not sprayed
  • Smell leaves with the source

Odour Removal

Every autumn the calls come: the rug smells musty and nobody knows why. The why is under-floor damp off the Creek Road flats, absorbed all summer. One controlled wash and full dry resets it.

A rug that never fully dries between wet seasons compounds its smell each year. Breaking the cycle takes one proper wash and a dry that reaches the backing.

  • The autumn mystery solved
  • Cycle broken properly
  • Backing-deep drying

Rug Spot Cleaning

One incident, one mark, and sometimes one targeted fix is all it takes. Where a spot treatment will genuinely look right, that is what we quote, and the rug never has to leave for long.

On rugs carrying general soil, spot work leaves a clean island. We will tell you which result yours would get before anything is booked.

  • Targeted fixes offered
  • Clean-island risk explained
  • Quick turnaround

Rug Steam Cleaning

The tough synthetics that furnish half of Carina take steam extraction well. It is quick and effective for that construction, while wool pieces are directed to the immersion bath for the deeper clean.

Running both methods means the method fits the rug. The inspection decides, and you hear the reasoning in plain words.

  • Quick for synthetics
  • Wool gets the bath
  • Reasoning in plain words

Rug Dry Cleaning

Delicate and moisture-shy fibres, viscose chief among them, get a low-moisture treatment that lifts soil while the weave keeps its shape. Gentler, slower and right for the fibre.

If a rug came with the styling package or the label mentions viscose or art silk, flag it at booking so the method and quote land correctly.

  • Viscose handled properly
  • No ripples, no watermarks
  • Flag the fibre early

Water Damage Restoration

Post-war roofs meet February storms, and rugs lose. A soaked rug rescued inside a few days gets staged drying and washing that saves the colour and stops mould cold.

Resist the urge to dry it over the fence in the sun; that sets damage. Ring us first and we will walk you through the right first hour.

  • Fence-drying sets damage
  • Right first hour advice
  • Sequence saves the rug

Mould Rug Cleaning

Shaded under-floor spaces on the flat streets keep rug backings damp, and mould follows. Caught early it washes out completely; caught late it gets a plain-spoken verdict and no false hope.

The rug returns with every layer dried out, taking away what mould needs to restart. Advice on placement comes free with the return.

  • Flat-street damp risk
  • Plain-spoken verdicts
  • Placement advice included

Rug Moth Treatment

Wool rugs in the quiet rooms of long-held homes are where moths settle in. Treating them ends the activity, the bath rinses away what they leave behind, and the rug goes back to the quiet room protected.

If a rug has sat in the same spot since the tram ran up Old Cleveland Road, lift a corner and check. Early discovery is cheap; late discovery is a new rug.

  • Quiet rooms checked
  • Early discovery is cheap
  • Treated and protected

Stain Protection

After washing, a protectant coat keeps the next sports-drink spill sitting on the fibre long enough to blot. In a house where the washing machine never stops, the rug earns the same defence.

It applies evenly, changes nothing about how the rug feels, and quietly wins the race against the next accident.

  • Defence for the rug too
  • Feels exactly the same
  • Wins the blotting race

Built by locals, run by locals

Three Carina institutions we drive past

The suburb built its own landmarks from scratch, and our pickup run threads between them.

Clem Jones Centre

The Zahel Street sports complex that locals built from a derelict trotting track, starting in 1957.

Swim-bag drips and after-training traffic land on the living-room rug, and the Clem Jones streets are core stops on our weekly Carina pickup run.

Carina Leagues Club

The Creek Road leagues club grown from a junior football club founded by locals in 1958.

Generations of Tigers families live in the post-war streets around Creek Road, and their rugs, mud, grass stains, dog and all, ride our Gateway run to Yatala and come back clean in about a week.

San Sisto College

The Dominican girls' college teaching in Carina since 1961.

School-run households are our simplest bookings: the rolled rug left out on a college morning is collected free and back on the polished boards inside the week.

Pet accident sorted on our Scandi rug in Carina

Collected without fuss in Carina
The hand-knotted rug was too heavy to move, so pickup was the main thing I needed. We had visitors due, which finally made me book the job. Communication was plain, which helped because we were juggling other jobs. The rug looked fresher and the timing worked out. I noticed the difference most once the rug was back under normal daylight. The issue is now something you have to look for, not something you notice straight away.

The eastside mornings

Neighbouring suburbs, same collection days

Carina's run covers these surrounding suburbs week in, week out.

Good to know

Carina families ask us these

Can a rug from the 1970s still be saved?

Often, yes. Wool from that era was made to last, and decades of dust is not damage, it is just neglect a wash reverses. We inspect first and tell you plainly which it is: a rug worth washing or one worth retiring.

How do you handle sports mud and grass stains?

Mud vacuums out badly because half of it sits below the pile. In the immersion bath it releases completely, and grass staining responds to the right chemistry at the wash stage. What is left after that, if anything, gets an honest explanation.

Do you do Camp Hill and Carindale on the same trip?

Yes, plus Carina Heights and Belmont. The same mornings cover the whole cluster, which is why our pricing rewards combined bookings: each rug past the first is $20 off.

Will the rug come back damp?

No. Rugs leave our facility fully dry, through the pile and the backing both, because returning a damp rug into a humid Brisbane house invites mould. Drying is controlled at Yatala, not left to a clothesline.

What is the turnaround for Carina?

About seven days pickup to return, with the 48 hour express there at added cost if you need it. The 48 hour re-wash guarantee covers every job after delivery.

The dog's accidents have soaked in. Is the rug done for?

Rarely. Urine sinks through to the backing, which is why it defeats every spray-on product, but the immersion bath washes the backing itself. If the dyes have already been damaged, we point it out at inspection instead of finding out mid-wash.
