What will the family rug cost to fix?
Grass stains from Tigers training, chlorine drips, a dog with opinions. Send the size and the story through the form. The rug is inspected, the price is fixed before washing starts, and when a rug does not justify the money, you hear that from us first.

The Carina pickup made it realistic to finally clean the wool rug. The team explained the wash, took the wool rug away to the facility and returned it with the colours looking clearer. It came back ready to put straight down.

Rug Washing in Carina, Where the Rugs Work Hard
One thousand Housing Commission homes
From 1950 the Housing Commission built exactly 1,000 homes in Carina, fibro, chamferboard and weatherboard on stumps, and private estates filled the gaps while the tram still ran out Old Cleveland Road. Most of those houses stand today, renovated, floors sanded back, walls opened up, and in nearly every living room a rug that catches whatever the week throws: training mud, swim bags, the dog after a creek walk.
Autumn damp off Creek Road
The flat streets toward Creek Road hold damp after rain, and a rug on boards over a shaded under-floor space wicks that moisture into its backing, which is why we field musty-rug calls from Carina every autumn.
An honest opinion at inspection time, even when that opinion is that the rug does not justify the cost.
The same wash, 29 years of it
The answer is the same wash we have given Brisbane rugs for 29 years: full immersion at the Yatala facility, controlled drying to the core. Sport mud lets go in the bath, grass stains meet the right chemistry, and the dog's contribution comes out at the source.

Three Carina institutions we drive past
The suburb built its own landmarks from scratch, and our pickup run threads between them.
The Zahel Street sports complex that locals built from a derelict trotting track, starting in 1957.
Swim-bag drips and after-training traffic land on the living-room rug, and the Clem Jones streets are core stops on our weekly Carina pickup run.
The Clem Jones Centre traces to 30 June 1957, when the Camp Hill Carina Welfare Association held its first meeting. Locals had asked Clem Jones, later Brisbane's longest-serving Lord Mayor, to approach the council about vacant land, and the Association leased five acres of Crown land that was then a badly neglected unofficial trotting track doubling as an illegal dump. From that start the site at 56 Zahel Street has grown into one of Brisbane's biggest community sports centres, with its swimming complex, gym and playing fields serving thousands of eastside families a week.
The Creek Road leagues club grown from a junior football club founded by locals in 1958.
Generations of Tigers families live in the post-war streets around Creek Road, and their rugs, mud, grass stains, dog and all, ride our Gateway run to Yatala and come back clean in about a week.
Carina Leagues Club began in 1958 when locals started a junior rugby league football club to mentor young talent and build community pride. The licensed club itself opened in October 1970 in the lower ground floor of Chadwick Hall, and from those rooms it has grown into the Creek Road complex that today backs the Carina Tigers and feeds junior league across Brisbane's east.
The Dominican girls' college teaching in Carina since 1961.
School-run households are our simplest bookings: the rolled rug left out on a college morning is collected free and back on the polished boards inside the week.
San Sisto College was founded in 1961 with Sister Jude as first principal, staffed by Dominican Sisters who travelled up from Maitland in New South Wales. It remains a Catholic secondary college for girls in Years 7 to 12, one of the east side's established schools, and its presence alongside the parish has anchored this corner of Carina for over sixty years.

Carina families ask us these
Can a rug from the 1970s still be saved?
Often, yes. Wool from that era was made to last, and decades of dust is not damage, it is just neglect a wash reverses. We inspect first and tell you plainly which it is: a rug worth washing or one worth retiring.
How do you handle sports mud and grass stains?
Mud vacuums out badly because half of it sits below the pile. In the immersion bath it releases completely, and grass staining responds to the right chemistry at the wash stage. What is left after that, if anything, gets an honest explanation.
Do you do Camp Hill and Carindale on the same trip?
Yes, plus Carina Heights and Belmont. The same mornings cover the whole cluster, which is why our pricing rewards combined bookings: each rug past the first is $20 off.
Will the rug come back damp?
No. Rugs leave our facility fully dry, through the pile and the backing both, because returning a damp rug into a humid Brisbane house invites mould. Drying is controlled at Yatala, not left to a clothesline.
What is the turnaround for Carina?
About seven days pickup to return, with the 48 hour express there at added cost if you need it. The 48 hour re-wash guarantee covers every job after delivery.
The dog's accidents have soaked in. Is the rug done for?
Rarely. Urine sinks through to the backing, which is why it defeats every spray-on product, but the immersion bath washes the backing itself. If the dyes have already been damaged, we point it out at inspection instead of finding out mid-wash.
