Can You Steam Clean a Persian Rug?
You can, but you generally shouldn't. Hot-water steam cleaning is risky on a genuine hand-knotted Persian rug — high heat can run the natural dyes, strip the wool's protective lanolin and trap moisture in the foundation, leading to dye bleed, shrinkage or mould. The safer method for fine rugs is controlled, full-immersion washing done off-site.

How long does a steam-cleaned rug take to dry?
In your home, a steamed rug can stay damp for days in our humidity. At our Yatala facility we dry rugs flat in a climate-controlled room, so they come back fully dry — usually within a couple of days of collection.
Will steam cleaning remove stains and odours?
It lifts many everyday stains, allergens and surface odours. Set-in stains and deep pet odours may need our targeted stain treatment or immersion washing, which we will advise on after inspection.
Do you steam clean rugs in my home?
No. We collect your rug and clean it at our dedicated facility where we can control water, temperature and drying — a far better and safer result than in-home van cleaning.
