Premier Rug Cleaning Services proudly employs technicians certified by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), the global benchmark for professional cleaning standards. Our team holds the IICRC Rug Cleaning Technician (RCT) designation, which equips us with specialised expertise in identifying and cleaning area rugs using industry-approved methods tailored to diverse fibres and constructions.​

The RCT certification covers comprehensive rug identification, including natural fibres like wool, silk, cotton, linen, coir and sisal, as well as synthetics such as rayon, nylon, polyester, acrylic and olefin. Training emphasises rug types, weaving techniques (hand-knotting, tufting), dyeing processes, and appropriate cleaning approaches—from minimum-moisture methods to full immersion washing. This ensures we select the right technique for your rug, protecting fringe, blocking integrity, and performing minor repairs when needed to restore appearance without damage.​

To earn RCT status, technicians must first complete prerequisites like Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT) or Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician (UFT), followed by passing the rigorous IICRC RCT-141 exam. Certification requires ongoing commitment, with 14 continuing education credits (CECs) every four years for technicians to stay current on evolving technologies in fibres, yarns, dyes and cleaning chemistry.​
