Sand on the coast strip
On the sand side, Caloundra, Kawana, Mooloolaba and Maroochydore run big rugs over tiled floors, and those rugs fill with beach sand that sinks to the foundation where no vacuum reaches. Every footstep grinds it against the fibre from below. Canal homes around Kawana, Minyama and Pelican Waters add salt to the mix, and their big tiled living areas mean big rugs, the kind that fit no domestic machine. Holiday lets make it worse: a rug in a Noosa or Caloundra rental does a year of traffic in a season, and end of season is the natural time to send it for a wash.
Damp on the range
Up on the Blackall Range it is another world. Maleny and Montville sit around 400 metres up in cloud country, catching mist and some of the heaviest rainfall in the region. A wool rug in a range farmhouse can stay slightly moist for weeks through autumn, and damp wool under furniture is exactly where mould and moths get started. The rainforest at Mary Cairncross stays green for the same reason the wool stays damp, and mould jobs from Maleny, Montville and Mapleton are a steady part of every Sunshine Coast run we do.
Buderim, Noosa and the good rugs
The region's better rugs cluster on the Buderim plateau and through Noosa's premium streets: designer wool, silk and hand-knotted pieces bought to last decades. Those owners are our most careful listeners, and fair enough. We identify the fibre before anything is decided, test dyes before washing, and give the honest assessment first. If a rug is not worth the spend, we say that before you spend it.
How the run works
There is no washing plant like ours on the Coast itself, so we bring the facility to you. The van does scheduled Sunshine Coast runs from Caloundra through Maroochydore to Noosa and up through the range villages, collecting rolled rugs from the door. Buderim sits mid-run, and the holiday units along Alexandra Headland hand over their rugs between bookings. The wash happens by hand at Yatala, about an hour and a half down the Bruce Highway, and the rug comes home fully dry.

Rug Washing Sunshine Coast
Our signature service. The rug is fully submerged at Yatala, washed by hand, rinsed clean and dried flat under controlled airflow. There is no facility like it on the Coast itself, which is why the rug travels and the pickup run exists.
A surface clean leaves sand in the foundation and damp in the wool. Full immersion washes the rug right through, and the controlled drying afterwards matters most for rugs coming off the range. Washing rugs is all we have done for 29 years.

Stain Removal
Red wine in a Buderim lounge, cordial in a Caloundra holiday let, mud walked in from a Palmwoods paddock. We identify the fibre first, then the stain, and match the treatment to both, with an honest call on what will shift before we start.
Use the wrong chemical and a stain sets instead of lifting, sometimes taking the dye with it. That is why nothing touches your rug until we know the fibre and the mark. Few stains surprise us after 29 years of nothing but rugs.

Pet Stain and Odour
Dogs on acreage at Maleny, cats in Maroochydore units, accidents in between. Urine soaks through the pile into the rug's foundation, and sprays only mask it. Our enzyme treatments break down the source, then a full hygienic wash carries it away.
Each kind of accident needs its own enzyme, and urine, vomit and the rest are treated for what they are. With the source digested, the immersion wash removes it completely rather than perfuming over it, and the rug comes home genuinely clean.

Odour Removal
Musty wool is the Blackall Range's specialty. Maleny and Montville sit in cloud country, and a rug that has held damp through autumn smells like it. Trapped odours live deep in the fibre, so we neutralise them at the source during a full wash.
Mustiness, smoke and stored-rug staleness each take a different treatment, handled in the wash rather than sprayed over the top. Range rugs are our most common odour jobs on this run, and most come back smelling of nothing at all.

Rug Spot Cleaning
A fresh spill on an otherwise clean rug does not always need the full wash. Spot cleaning treats the mark directly, a quick, budget-friendly option between proper washes. If the rug genuinely needs more, we say so before any work begins.
Small, fresh, not soaked through: that is a spot clean. A mark that has reached the foundation, or already been through a supermarket cleaner, usually calls for the full wash instead. We tell you which is which before you decide.

Rug Steam Cleaning
Hot-water extraction is the right tool for hard-wearing synthetics and holiday-let workhorses, the rugs that do a year of traffic in a Noosa season. Heat and strong extraction lift ground-in grime and sanitise deep in the pile.
Our gold standard is the immersion wash, but some synthetics and latex-backed rugs are better served by hot-water extraction. The rug's fibre, construction and condition make that call, never habit. Delicate fibres never see steam.

Rug Dry Cleaning
Viscose, some silks and fragile antiques cannot take water. Noosa and Buderim hold some of the best rugs on the Coast, and the delicate ones get low-moisture dry cleaning that refreshes them safely, with no shrinkage or dye bleed.
Viscose passes for silk until the wrong wash ruins it, and telling them apart at a glance takes years of handling both. If you are not sure what your rug is made of, do not guess. Send it in for an honest assessment first.

Water Damage Restoration
The range catches some of the region's heaviest rainfall, and when a roof gives way at Maleny or a summer storm floods a Kawana garage, speed decides what survives. We collect quickly, then rinse, sanitise and dry the rug under controlled airflow.
A wet rug loses a little more every day: mould establishes, dyes migrate, browning sets in. The sooner it reaches Yatala the more of it we can save, so call as soon as the water stops rather than waiting to see.

Mould Rug Cleaning
A wool rug in a hinterland house can sit slightly damp for weeks, and damp wool under furniture is where mould starts. We kill the spores rather than cleaning over them, remove staining where possible, and dry the rug so it stays gone.
Treatment without proper drying just schedules the next outbreak, which is why the controlled-airflow drying at our facility matters so much. A musty smell after a wet month on the range is the early warning, and caught early it usually washes out.

Rug Moth Treatment
Moths love the hinterland's quiet corners: wool that sits undisturbed under a spare bed in Montville is exactly where larvae do their worst. Our treatment clears eggs and larvae, and a full wash removes the residue they leave behind.
Storing a wool rug untreated is an invitation, because larvae sealed away with it work undisturbed for months. Treat first, wash out the residue, then store it right. We can advise on that last part too.

Mooloolaba, Minyama and the Kawana canal streets are core stops on our Sunshine Coast run; beach-side rugs come to us full of sand, and sand is what immersion washing removes best.
Mooloolaba Beach is patrolled year-round, with the sheltered Spit at its northern end for calm swimming. Around on the river, The Wharf carries the marina, restaurants and SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast, the aquarium with its 80-metre ocean tunnel and eleven animal zones over three levels.
Thirteen volcanic peaks rising out of the coastal plain, named by Captain Cook in 1770.
Our run to the Coast passes this country on the way up; Beerwah, Landsborough and the towns under the peaks are collected on the same loop as the range villages.
The Glass House Mountains are the plugs of volcanoes active around 25 to 27 million years ago, left standing after the softer rock around them eroded. Cook named them from the Endeavour in 1770 because they reminded him of glass furnace kilns in Yorkshire. Mt Beerwah is the tallest of the group, and the exposed columns on its northern face are known as the Pipe Organ.
The Irwin family's zoo at Beerwah, grown from a two-acre reptile park opened in 1970.
Families around Beerwah and Landsborough with kids, dogs and red-dirt driveways are regulars on our hinterland pickups, and their rugs show it.
Bob and Lyn Irwin opened the Beerwah Reptile Park on 3 June 1970 with little more than lace monitors, snakes and a few crocodiles. Renamed the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park in 1982, it became Australia Zoo under Steve and Terri Irwin and now draws visitors from around the world. The 5,000-seat Crocoseum was the first stadium of its kind for crocodile, snake and bird demonstrations.

Noosa Heads, Noosaville and Sunshine Beach homes hold some of the best rugs on the Coast, and they ride our northern loop back to Yatala for a hand wash.
Noosa National Park draws around 1.5 million visitors a year across its four sections, with the Headland section's coastal track from Noosa Heads past Tea Tree Bay to Hells Gates the best-known walk. The park holds close to 3,000 recorded plant and animal species, with koalas still spotted in the canopy.

The markets started in 1979 in the CWA hall with three stalls and eight visitors on the first day. They now run every Wednesday and Saturday along Memorial Drive with more than 600 stalls and around 1.6 million visitors a year, still with a make-it, bake-it, grow-it rule at the original market.

The Cairncross family gave this land in trust to honour their mother Mary and keep the rainforest intact, and it is now a living remnant of the forests that once covered the Blackall Range. A flat 2-kilometre loop track and boardwalk circles through strangler figs and rose gums, with pademelons on the forest floor and a discovery centre at the entrance.

Do you really service the whole Sunshine Coast?
Yes. The southern end through Caloundra and Kawana, the Maroochy coast through Mooloolaba, Maroochydore and up to Noosa, and the hinterland villages including Maleny, Montville and Mapleton. All of it rides the same scheduled pickup run.
Is there a rug washing facility on the Sunshine Coast?
Not one that does full immersion washing like ours, which is why our van comes to you. Rugs travel to our Yatala facility on a scheduled run, get washed by hand, and come back fully dry, on a standard 7 day turnaround.
My hinterland house smells musty. Can a wash fix the rug?
Usually, and the earlier the better. Damp range air keeps wool slightly moist for weeks, which is how mould and mildew smell start. Immersion washing and controlled drying remove the source, not just the smell, and we tell you honestly if a rug is past saving.
Can you get pet urine out of a rug?
Yes. Urine soaks through to the rug's foundation, which is why sprays and powders only hide it for a while. We break the source down with enzyme treatment, then wash the rug through by full immersion, so the smell is removed rather than masked. Tell us when you book and we will flag it for the wash floor.
How do you handle holiday rental rugs?
End of season is the smart time. A rug in a Noosa or Caloundra let does a year of traffic in a few months, and sand is most of that damage. Book the wash between bookings; pickup and delivery are free on the scheduled run.
How long before I get my rug back?
Standard turnaround is 7 days from pickup. A 48 hour express service is available at an additional cost if you have guests arriving.
