Compliance

At Premier Rug Cleaning Services, compliance and safety are at the heart of everything we do. Operating from our Yatala facility, we adhere to Australia’s highest industry standards and legal requirements, ensuring your rugs receive expert care while protecting our team, your property, and the environment. Our technicians follow proven protocols for cleaning excellence, workplace safety, and responsible chemical management, giving you complete confidence in every service.

AS/NZS 3733:1995 – Textile Floor Coverings

Premier Rug Cleaning Services maintains all rug and carpet cleaning in line with AS/NZS 3733:1995, the Australian and New Zealand standard for the cleaning and maintenance of residential and commercial textile floor coverings. This standard informs our approach to cleaning methods, frequency, and post-treatment care to help preserve appearance, texture, and fibre integrity over the life of your rugs and carpets. Our technicians apply cleaning processes that are compatible with manufacturers’ recommendations, including correct moisture control, appropriate cleaning agents, and thorough rinsing and extraction to minimise residue and prevent rapid re-soiling.

In practice, this means we assess fibre type, construction, backing, and installation conditions before selecting a cleaning system, whether low‑moisture, hot‑water extraction, or specialised spot treatments. We document the steps taken for each job, including pre‑inspection, testing for colourfastness, and post‑cleaning checks, to demonstrate alignment with AS/NZS 3733:1995 expectations for quality and durability. Our maintenance recommendations consider traffic levels and usage patterns, helping clients set realistic cleaning schedules that support warranty conditions where applicable. By following this standard, Premier Rug Cleaning aims to deliver consistently high cleaning outcomes while helping protect our clients’ flooring investments and complying with recognised industry benchmarks.

Work Health and Safety Act 2011

Premier Rug Cleaning Services operates under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld), which requires businesses to protect workers and others from harm so far as is reasonably practicable. We recognise our primary duty of care as a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU), and we implement systems to identify hazards, assess risks, and apply effective controls for all rug cleaning activities undertaken on client premises and in our facilities. This includes safe systems of work for manual handling, use of machinery, and handling and storage of cleaning substances.

We provide workers with information, instruction, training, and supervision so they can perform cleaning tasks safely, use equipment correctly, and respond appropriately to incidents or near‑misses. Our procedures emphasise consultation with workers about health and safety matters, incident reporting, and continuous improvement, consistent with the Act’s focus on cooperation and issue resolution. We also monitor workplace conditions and worker health in relation to our operations, such as exposure to noise, slips and trips, and contact with chemicals, with the goal of preventing injury and illness. By embedding these WHS obligations in our daily operations, Premier Rug Cleaning aims to provide a safe environment for employees, subcontractors, clients, and visitors interacting with our services.

Environmental and Chemical Safety

Premier Rug Cleaning Services is committed to responsible environmental and chemical safety practices in line with Australian regulatory expectations and industry guidance on cleaning chemicals. We select cleaning agents that are fit for purpose, follow manufacturer instructions for dilution and contact times, and avoid unnecessary or excessive use of chemicals. All products are stored, labelled, and handled in accordance with workplace health and safety and environmental protection requirements, including attention to any hazardous properties and required personal protective equipment.

Our technicians are trained to prevent chemical misuse, including not mixing incompatible products and ensuring adequate ventilation during application, particularly when using stronger disinfectants or oxidising agents. Wastewater from carpet and rug extraction is disposed of through appropriate sewer or trade‑waste pathways where permitted, and never discharged into stormwater systems, in line with environmental protection principles. Unused or expired chemicals are managed as hazardous waste and sent to suitable facilities where required, rather than being poured down sinks or drains. Through these measures, Premier Rug Cleaning aims to minimise environmental impact, safeguard indoor air quality, and protect the health of clients, workers, and the wider community when delivering our cleaning services.
