A straight quote, a short trip away
Mackenzie sits closer to our facility than almost any suburb on Brisbane's east side, which keeps scheduling flexible. Send the rug's details through, we inspect and confirm the price, and the wash starts only once you have agreed to it.

Rug Washing Mackenzie: Small Suburb, Serious Bush
Three square kilometres of quiet
Mackenzie covers barely 3.3 square kilometres between the Gateway Motorway and the slopes of Mount Petrie, named only in 1975 from rural land that once belonged to Rochedale and Belmont. There is no shopping centre and no strip, just family homes from the 1980s onward on generous blocks, most of them backing onto or facing bush.
What the bush sends indoors
It is exactly how residents want it, and it gives their rugs a particular workload: eucalypt dust, pollen drift, pets, and the fine grit that bush edges shed through the dry. That load builds invisibly.
Pollen and dust settle through the pile during winter, then the first humid weeks of summer bind them into the base, which is why a Mackenzie rug can look respectable and still feel heavy and smell tired.
The reset, 25 minutes away
The reset is full immersion washing at our Yatala facility, and for Mackenzie the logistics are almost unfair: straight down the Gateway to the M1, about 25 minutes, one of the shortest eastern runs we drive. Collection is free, with the rolled rug handed to the driver at your front step.

Where your rug is washed
A mountain, a school and a Sunday crowd
For a suburb this size, Mackenzie's three landmarks carry real weight.
The 170-metre bush hill over the suburb's southern edge, named after Tom Petrie.
Homes under the mountain live with bush on every side, and the fine eucalypt grit that drifts off it is the single most common thing our Yatala bath removes from Mackenzie rugs.
Mount Petrie was the district's reference point long before the suburb existed, honouring Tom Petrie of the pioneering Brisbane family. Its 170 metres anchor a spread of bushland reserve reaching across Mackenzie's and Burbank's semi-rural edges, and the trails off Mount Petrie Road serve as the suburb's shared backyard.
The Vivaldi Place school that opened in 1955 as Mount Petrie State School.
Vivaldi Place and its cul-de-sacs are the natural centre of our Mackenzie pickups, typically a lounge rug and two bedroom pieces collected in one free visit.
It opened on 31 March 1955 carrying the mountain's name, twenty years before the suburb had its own, and was later renamed Mackenzie State Primary School. The campus is shared with Mackenzie State Special School, which gives this pocket-sized suburb an outsized place in eastern Brisbane schooling.
One of Brisbane's largest church campuses, on Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road.
Mackenzie is a suburb where neighbours talk, and one honestly washed rug has a way of booking the street; most of our work here still arrives by word of mouth.
The main Gateway Baptist campus at 1052 Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road draws congregations from across the south east, scale few suburbs of three square kilometres could claim. Alongside Mackenzie's Samoan, Tongan and Chinese congregations, it turns the quiet suburb into a Sunday destination for thousands.

Mackenzie rug owners ask
How soon can you collect from Mackenzie?
Usually within the week. Sitting 25 minutes from our facility makes Mackenzie one of the easiest suburbs to schedule on our eastern side, and pickups slot into most runs that head down the Gateway.
The rug looks fine but smells musty. Why?
Bush dust and pollen settle deep through the dry months, then summer humidity binds them and feeds odour. The rug can look clean while carrying all of it. An immersion wash at Yatala clears the load completely, smell included.
Do you charge extra for our side street off Mount Petrie Road?
No street in Mackenzie costs anything for collection. The driver picks up the rolled rug and returns it free, wherever you are in the suburb.
Can you do Burbank and Rochedale on the same trip?
Burbank and Chandler ride the eastern run with Mackenzie, while Rochedale and Mansfield sit with our southside loop, but all are serviced. Book several rugs in the one visit and the $20 saving applies to each rug beyond the first.
What is the turnaround from here?
The standard 7 days applies, though Mackenzie's proximity means return scheduling is rarely a bottleneck. Express 48-hour washing can be booked at extra charge.
Can dog urine in the base of a wool rug ever fully go?
Yes, when the rug is washed in full immersion rather than treated at the surface. The urine deposits dissolve out of the foundation, the odour goes with them, and deep drying keeps it from returning in summer. Old accidents that have touched the dye are pointed out honestly before we start.
