A plain quote, market-corner honest
The driver inspects each rug at the door, names one firm price per piece, and says outright when a rug is not worth professional washing. Busy households use the form, the whole house goes in one pickup, and the rugs come home together, clean and dry.

I booked once it was obvious the wool rug needed professional care. The team explained the wash, took the wool rug away to the facility and returned it with the colours looking clearer.

Rug Cleaning Newmarket Households Actually Need
Weatherboards, dogs and working rugs
Newmarket is a family suburb of timber housing: gabled interwar homes and post-war weatherboards on generous blocks, with newer townhouses filling in near the shops. Renovation is steady, original floors get polished, and rugs do the softening in living rooms and kids' bedrooms.
These are working rugs in busy households, usually with a pool, a sport schedule and a dog somewhere in the mix.
Creek damp and stumped floors
The low ground along Enoggera Creek holds humid air through summer, and floods have touched the flats more than once in the suburb's history. A timber home on stumps breathes from beneath, so rugs collect damp and fine dust even in dry weeks. The full immersion wash at Yatala clears both from pile and foundation, and every rug is dried completely before the driver brings it back.
Named for a market, priced like one
The saleyards opened on the Enoggera Road corner in 1877, named the whole district, and ran on a simple rule: the price is stated, the goods are as described. We keep the same rule on the same streets. Each rug is priced on what it is, size, fibre, condition, with the figure fixed at inspection, and a rug not worth washing is called exactly that at the door. Between the pool, the dog and the backyard, Newmarket rugs work hard for their households, and honest maintenance is what keeps them working.

Where your rug is washed
The corners Newmarket grew from
A market that named a suburb, a sawmill that became a pool and a shopping village on the same old corner.
The cattle saleyards (1877 to 1931) that gave the suburb its name.
A suburb named after honest trade suits us. We quote plainly, tell you if a rug is not worth washing, and charge nothing for pickup and delivery on the weekly run.
The new livestock market moved out from Normanby in 1877 to the corner of Enoggera and Newmarket Roads, and the district promptly renamed itself after it. The Newmarket Hotel opened on the opposite corner within two years, and the saleyards drove the suburb's growth until the trade moved to Cannon Hill in 1931. The name, the hotel and the road stayed.
The Alderson Street pool complex, built on the site of the suburb's old sawmill.
Swimming families know the difference between a rinse and a proper wash. Rugs are no different: towels and spot cleaner handle the surface, but chlorine-wet feet and summer grime need the full immersion process we run at Yatala.
The Alderson Street site worked timber from 1912, when the Poultney brothers opened their sawmill by the railway siding, and by 1931 it housed the Newmarket Plywood Company. Today the same ground holds the council's Newmarket Pool, with a 50-metre heated outdoor pool, a 25-metre programs pool and indoor learners' pools, one of the inner north's favourite swimming spots.
The Enoggera Road shopping centre that grew around the old hotel corner in 2005.
Newmarket does its errands locally and prefers not to add another one. That is the point of our service: the rug never needs to leave home until our driver carries it out rolled.
Reading's Newmarket Village opened in 2005 on the suburb's historic commercial corner, and now packs a supermarket, more than 30 specialty stores, the Newmarket Hotel and an eight-screen cinema with a Titan Luxe auditorium into the block. It has returned the suburb's centre of gravity to the exact corner the saleyards built.

Straight questions from Newmarket
Can the pickup fit around school and work hours?
The run is scheduled by day rather than by hour, so most families leave the rolled rug at the door or on the verandah and the driver collects it as the loop comes through. Redelivery works the same way.
Is it worth washing a rug the dog sleeps on?
That rug most of all. Hair and dander comb out, odour is treated in the fibre, and the wash resets the pile the dog has flattened. If a rug is beyond saving, we say so at the door instead of taking your money.
What does it cost for a family's worth of rugs?
Each rug is priced on its own size, fibre and condition, and every one after the first in a booking is $20 less. Collection and return add nothing, so the whole-house clean costs exactly the sum of the rugs.
Are Wilston, Grange and Alderley covered as well?
Yes. Alderley shares Newmarket's day on the inner northwest loop, and Wilston and Grange across the boundary are covered by our northside runs the same week.
How long until the rugs are back, and what is the guarantee?
Seven days standard, 48-hour express at additional cost. Anything that concerns you within 48 hours of return goes straight back to the wash floor at our expense.
Puppy urine in the same rug corner every week. Can washing break the cycle?
Yes, because the cycle runs on scent. Urine residue in the rug's foundation keeps advertising the spot to the puppy no matter how the surface is scrubbed. The immersion wash at Yatala strips the residue out of the foundation, complete drying follows, and the corner stops smelling like an invitation. Pair the clean rug with fresh training and the habit usually ends. Dye damage, if any, is flagged honestly at assessment.
