Few suburbs are drawn as plainly as this one. The Bremer curls around the north and west, Bundamba Creek runs the eastern boundary, and the Main Line railway rules off the south. Inside that frame the houses gather near the station end while the river flats stay open and grazed, a piece of working land that has never been filled in. The shape explains the quiet: through-traffic has no reason at all to cross it.
The Booval Brewery opened here in 1898, tower and all, and was gone by 1906.

In 1898 a brewery went up on this side of the district with a 35-foot tower over it, trading as the Booval Brewery. It became the West Moreton Brewery in 1900 and was decommissioned in 1906, an eight-year run from ambition to auction. The tower outlived the beer for a while, and the story survives as one of the district's plainest lessons about backing a big idea against much bigger competitors.
Trinity Uniting grew out of a 1970 union of three local congregations.

In July 1970 the Booval Congregational, North Booval Presbyterian and North Booval Methodist congregations formed a cooperative parish, years ahead of the national church union. Their new building at 114 Jacaranda Street was dedicated on 15 September 1973, and when the Uniting Church in Australia formed in 1977 the parish simply carried on, with the East Ipswich congregation joining in 1980. Three groups agreeing to share one roof, then building it, is a fair portrait of how this suburb goes about things.
