The original jetty reached into Bramble Bay in 1888, when the peninsula's visitors still arrived by steamer, and for over a century it anchored Woody Point's identity as the first resort corner on this shore. The current 240 metre structure replaced it in 2008 after a full reconstruction, and it works as hard as its predecessor ever did: anglers along the rail, walkers at first light, and the city skyline sitting across the water.

HMQS Gayundah served among colonial Queensland's own warships before long decades as a working vessel, and in 1958 her hulk was run aground here to serve as a breakwater. Our old dog has urinated near his corner of the wool rug. Is that repairable?
In nearly every case, yes. The urine has descended to the rug's foundation, so the repair goes there too: a full flush in the bath, enzyme treatment neutralising the residue at its depth, and drying carried through the core so humid bay air cannot resurrect the odour later.
Does a wash actually get the salt out?
