The pet odour in our lounge rug kept coming back whenever the room warmed up. After the clean it smells neutral again, not perfumed, and the front room feels usable. We are in Ransome, so having it collected made the job much easier.

Rug Washing Ransome: Two Creeks, Big Blocks, Hard-Working Rugs
More reserve than road
Ransome is one of Brisbane's smallest and greenest suburbs, around 430 people on 4.8 square kilometres where the bayside flats meet the Redlands boundary, most of it bushland and wetland rather than houses. The name remembers Charles Horace Ransome, whose sawmill here once cut firewood for the city.
Bush-edge blocks, hard-working rugs
Homes cluster along Rickertt Road and Molle Road, large houses on semi-rural blocks backing onto reserve, and they live a bush-edge life: boots, utes, dogs with acreage manners, and fine dust off the unsealed edges working indoors all year.
The rugs in these houses are good pieces doing genuinely hard duty.
Dust, damp, one solution
Wedged between Tingalpa Creek and Lota Creek, the suburb also holds damp air over its flats on still mornings most of the year, and wool takes that moisture up quietly until must and odour announce it. Both problems, the dust and the damp, have the same solution: a complete immersion bath at Yatala, where the weave is flushed right through by hand and controlled drying takes the rug back to properly dry. We have washed rugs this way for 29 years with IICRC certification behind us, and because the truck already travels Rickertt Road between our bayside and Capalaba stops, a Ransome pickup asks nothing of anyone.

Where your rug is washed
The green country around Ransome's blocks
Most of the suburb is protected land, and its households like it exactly that way.
Woodland, grassland and wetland won back from an abandoned housing estate, now a favourite of serious birdwatchers.
People who buy beside a reserve like this value quiet, careful work, which happens to describe our trade exactly: one rug at a time, washed by hand at Yatala for 29 years.
Mookin-Bah was reclaimed from land once cut up for housing, and today it runs a chain of habitats between the Tingalpa and Lota creek systems. Birdwatchers rate it highly enough that the National Parks Association of Queensland schedules organised outings here, working the edges where woodland meets wetland.
The protected tidal reach of the creek on Ransome's eastern boundary, reached from the end of Chadwell Street.
Creek-country households know damp better than anyone: it finds sheds, boots and wool pile alike, and the wool is the one we can promise to fix completely.
The conservation park protects the creek where it forms the suburb's eastern edge, its wetlands mapped by the state for conservation value and its water a favourite of canoe paddlers and creek fishers. It is a separate reserve from the Tingalpa Creek Reserve walking loop over in Chandler; the two share the creek, but one is a council walking loop and this one is a state conservation park.
The coastal bushland covering the suburb's northern ground toward Moreton Bay, threaded with local walking tracks.
The dogs walked on these tracks every morning spend every evening on a living room rug, and sand, mud and coat oil are removals our wash floor performs daily.
Ransome Reserve runs the suburb's bay side, its tracks winding through bushland and wetland behind the coastline. Public access to the water itself is limited, which is precisely why the shorebirds and the quiet remain, and the surrounding households treat the tracks as their own.

Asked from the big blocks
Ransome is tiny. Do you honestly service it?
Every week, because we drive through it anyway. Rickertt Road links our bayside stops with Capalaba, so a Ransome pickup adds minutes to the run, not kilometres. Fewer than 500 residents does not mean fewer than 500 rugs worth washing.
What does a rug wash cost from here?
Priced on the rug itself: size, fibre and condition, with one firm figure after inspection. Pickup costs nothing, since the truck is through Ransome each week regardless.
Our rugs cop dust, dog hair and damp all at once. Can one wash handle that?
Yes, because immersion deals with all three in the same bath. Dust rinses from the weave base, hair and coat oil lift in the wash, and the controlled dry removes the moisture that made the rug musty in the first place.
Can you pick up from Wakerley, Gumdale or Chandler on the same trip?
All three sit on connected runs, along with Lota and Thorneside across the creek. Booking rugs together is worth doing, since every rug after the first in a collection is discounted by $20.
How long before the rug is back on the floor?
Plan on 7 days door to door. A 48-hour express run is there when something matters, priced as an extra, and any concern raised inside 48 hours of redelivery sends the rug back into the bath free.
Two dogs, one rug, years of accidents. Honestly, can it recover?
Usually better than owners expect. Accumulated urine sits in the foundation and only a full immersion wash flushes it out; the odour goes because the deposits do. Years of accidents can stress dye, so we test first and give you a straight verdict on what the wash will and will not undo.
