A firm figure before the rug leaves the building
Send the form with a photo if you like, and the driver confirms the price when he sees the rug at pickup. Designer and wool pieces get an honest assessment first, because protecting an investment sometimes means advising against unnecessary work.

I booked after a friend mentioned Premier, mostly because the Oriental rug was too awkward to fit in the car. Pickup and delivery were included, and it came back ready for the entry.

Rug Washing Kangaroo Point, Eleven Floors Up
A vertical suburb with horizontal treasures
Today's Kangaroo Point is mostly vertical: apartment towers and mid-rise blocks stacked along the river, threaded between surviving nineteenth-century stone and timber buildings from the suburb's shipyard days. Apartment owners here furnish carefully. The floors are tile, engineered timber and polished concrete, nearly every living room runs on a rug, and it is often wool or a designer piece bought specifically for the space.
What no apartment has is anywhere to wash or dry one.
River on three sides, moisture all year
The river wraps the point on three sides, so the air carries moisture all year, and balcony-adjacent rugs cop humidity swings, direct sun and the occasional storm blow-in. Wool holds that moisture quietly until it starts to smell. Full immersion at our Yatala facility resets the fibre, the dyes are tested first, and every rug is dried right through before the driver brings it back up to the lobby.
Pickup and delivery is the local tradition
This peninsula has always run on collection and return: the cross-river ferry has shuttled locals from Holman Street for a century, and the immigration depot at the point received treasured cargo from the other side of the world. Our version is smaller but the logic holds. You book by form, the driver meets you or the concierge, and the rug does its round trip to Yatala without you rearranging a single day. In a suburb where nobody owns a spare hour or a hose bay, that is the whole service.

Where your rug is washed
Three landmarks the towers grew around
A century of arrivals and river crossings, still visible at the tip of the peninsula.
The park at the tip of the peninsula, named for a nineteenth-century river shipping captain.
Kangaroo Point has always moved by pickup and delivery, first by ferry, now by our driver. Roll the rug, book the collection, and it comes back washed and dry.
Established in 1978 at the point's northern tip, the park honours Captain John Burke, the seaman whose John Burke Shipping Company grew out of the Brisbane River trade. Next door is the Holman Street ferry wharf, built before 1919 and heritage listed, where the cross-river ferry still shuttles locals to the city the way it has for a century.
The 1873 stone church above the river, on a site of worship since 1849.
A building cared for since 1849 is proof that maintenance beats replacement. We make the same case for wool rugs every week, and after 29 years of hand washing we can usually prove it.
Designed by Richard George Suter and built in 1873, St Mary's replaced an 1849 timber church that stood closer to the water. Its stone walls and timber roof have watched the peninsula change from shipyards to towers. Added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992, it remains one of the oldest working churches in Brisbane.
The grand 1885 immigration depot at the point, the first Australian address for thousands.
Plenty of rugs in this suburb arrived in Australia the same way their owners' families did, as treasured cargo. We treat them that way at Yatala, with an honest assessment before any work begins.
Designed by colonial architect John James Clark and built around 1885, Yungaba was where new arrivals to Queensland rested after the voyage out, a role it played until immigration use ended in 1995. The heritage-listed building and its riverside grounds have since been restored as part of the point's residential renewal.

Point questions, straight answers
I am not home during the day. How does pickup work?
Leave the rolled rug with your concierge or inside the door and note the arrangement on the form. The driver collects it on the scheduled run, and redelivery works the same way in reverse.
My rug cost more than the sofa. Who exactly handles it?
The same people who have hand washed rugs at Yatala for 29 years. Dyes are tested before washing, fragile or high-value pieces are flagged at assessment, and if a rug should not be immersed we say so and explain the alternative.
Is there a charge for collecting from an apartment building?
No. Lobby, lift and stairs are part of the job, and pickup and redelivery cost nothing on the inner city run. What you pay is the per-rug quote, fixed at inspection.
Do you service East Brisbane and Woolloongabba on the same day?
Yes, the three suburbs share one collection day, and the CBD across the water is covered as well. One form books a pickup from any of them.
How fast can I have the rug back?
Seven days standard. The 48-hour express costs more, and if anything worries you in the first 48 hours back home, the rewash is free.
An apartment dog, one accident, eleven floors up. What removes urine properly?
Only removal at the source. In a sealed apartment the air conditioning recirculates the smell while the residue sits in the rug's foundation, untouched by anything applied from above. The rug needs the immersion wash at Yatala, where the foundation itself is washed through and the piece is dried completely before it rides the lift home. Dye damage from the accident, if any, is identified and explained at assessment first.
