One figure, approved on the ridge

A firm quote for rugs built to acreage scale

Clear Mountain owners maintain their own properties and can smell a padded quote from the next ridge. Ours works the opposite way: describe the rug on the form, get one firm figure built from the size, the fibre and the condition, and approve it before anything happens. If the assessment finds the rug needs less than a full wash, the advice changes, and so does the price, downward.

Rug Cleaning Clear Mountain, Sized to the Houses

Acreage houses, acreage rugs

Clear Mountain is one of the few Brisbane-fringe localities still wrapped in state forest, around 800 people on ridges and big timbered blocks along Clear Mountain Road and its side lanes, with Cedar Creek tracing the southern boundary. The houses are big builds with long gravel drives, sheds and the odd stable, and inside them sit large-format rugs doing real work: wool spread over tile and timber, pieces anchored under furniture that rarely moves, all of it collecting the fine grit that acreage life walks in every day. Premier Rug Cleaning is built for exactly this scale of job.

That grit cuts pile from the inside, which is why a full immersion wash matters more up here, not less.

Storms hit the ridge first

Elevation buys the ridge cooler nights and a breeze, but summer storms roll straight over it and the surrounding forest holds the air damp for days afterwards. In a shaded acreage home that moisture settles deep into a rug's foundation, where it feeds odour and mildew unnoticed. The wash at our Yatala facility ends with controlled drying right through the pile to the backing, so the rug goes back up the mountain genuinely dry, not surface-dry.

A place people climb for quality

The lodge on the ridge has spent decades proving that people will drive up a mountain for something done properly, with its vineyard, spa and long views out toward Samsonvale and the coastal ranges. The farm families before that ran two schools on these slopes, the first from 1889, and kept their gear mended rather than replaced. Our service belongs to the same tradition: the driver makes the climb, the rug gets the unhurried version of a hand wash, and the honest assessment beforehand tells you whether the work is worth doing at all. Up here, that question gets a truthful answer.

Rug Cleaning Clear Mountain

The full acreage service: dry grit dusted out first, a hand wash by full immersion at our Yatala facility, controlled drying to the backing and a final groom. The driver manages the long driveway and the rolled rug both, on the scheduled hills day.

What ages a Clear Mountain rug is the fine grit of acreage life, walked in daily and ground against the foundation where no vacuum reaches. Dusting first, immersion second removes it entirely, and the rug comes home in about 7 days with its colour up.

  • Long driveways are normal work
  • One firm figure before washing
  • About 7 days, dried right through

Rug Washing Clear Mountain

Our signature immersion wash at the scale these houses demand. Three-metre wool pieces are submerged whole at Yatala, washed by hand, rinsed clean and dried flat with airflow reaching the middle, which no verandah or sunny deck can manage.

Big rugs fail at home drying: the edges dry, the centre stays damp, and a musty stripe develops down the middle. The facility exists to solve exactly that. Full immersion, complete rinsing, drying checked through every layer before the rug travels back up the ridge.

  • Oversized pieces washed whole
  • Wool-safe, hand-worked method
  • Centre dried as well as the edges
Most popular

Stain Removal

Red wine by the fireplace, coffee on the office rug, whatever came off the quad bike boots. The fibre is identified before the mark is touched, and every treatment is matched to both.

Stain chemistry is unforgiving: the wrong product locks a mark in permanently and can lift the dye around it. We test first, treat second, and give you a straight forecast of what will shift before the job is booked. No theatrical promises, just results and honesty.

  • Wine, coffee, mud and boot marks
  • Fibre-matched, dye-safe work
  • Forecast given before booking

Pet Stain and Odour

Farm dogs, house dogs and whatever the cat dragged in: acreage pets use the rugs hard. Accidents are flushed from the foundation in the wash and the odour is treated at its source with enzymes.

A pet accident dries downward, through the pile into the backing, which is why sprays only ever rent a solution. The immersion wash removes the residue at every depth, the enzyme treatment ends the chemistry, and full drying means humidity cannot bring the smell back.

  • Flushed from every layer
  • Enzymes finish the job
  • Humidity cannot revive it

Odour Removal

The must a shaded acreage home feeds into its rugs, wood smoke from the winter fire, wet dog in the mudroom. We dissolve the cause in a full wash and return a rug that smells of nothing.

Odour lives in the base of a rug and forest-edge homes keep it well fed, with damp air after every storm week and slow-drying rooms under the tree line. The wash empties the accumulation and complete drying stops it starting over. Nothing is masked, everything is removed.

  • Damp, smoke and animal odours
  • Removed, never perfumed over
  • Dry to the backing at return

Rug Spot Cleaning

One fresh spill on an otherwise clean rug, treated locally: dye tested, lifted carefully, groomed back so no pale patch marks the spot.

The first five minutes after a spill decide most outcomes, and scrubbing loses every time. Blot it, leave it alone and book. If the spot has already been fed a supermarket spray, say so, because that changes the chemistry, and we would rather know than guess.

  • Local work on single marks
  • Dye safety proven first
  • Honest scope, no upselling

Rug Steam Cleaning

Hot water extraction for the utility fleet: mudroom runners, shed rugs, the synthetic piece the dogs own. Fast, effective and honestly limited to the rugs it suits.

Steam is the right tool for machine-made synthetics and the wrong one for handmade wool, so the assessment sorts your pieces before anything is booked. The big wool goes to immersion, the workhorses get steam, and you hear the reasoning behind each call.

  • For the synthetic workhorses
  • Quick turnaround on utility rugs
  • Wool always goes to immersion

Rug Dry Cleaning

Low-moisture cleaning for pieces that fail the dye test: unstable colours, delicate silk, fragile older foundations. Compound cleaned in sections, never immersed, with the same collection and return as every other job on the hills day.

When testing shows water would risk a rug, we say so and switch methods rather than gambling. It is the exception on our wash floor, chosen by evidence, done by the same hands, and explained to you plainly, because the reasoning is part of the service.

  • For dye-risk and fragile rugs
  • Sectioned, controlled cleaning
  • Method chosen by testing

Water Damage Restoration

Storm water through the sliding door, the header tank leak, the flooded shed where the spare rugs were rolled. Speed decides what survives, so book the day it happens.

A soaked rug in forest humidity moulds fast, and every waiting day narrows the options. At Yatala the rug is assessed on arrival, dried in controlled conditions and washed in the correct order, and you get a plain per-rug verdict before any cost is committed.

  • Assessed the day it arrives
  • Controlled drying, right order
  • Plain verdicts, then decisions

Mould Rug Cleaning

The grey bloom on the stored rug, the musty patch under furniture that never moves. Ridge homes under tree cover grow mould quietly, and we remove the colony and its conditions together.

Mould wiped from the surface returns within the season because the colony lives in the foundation. The antimicrobial immersion wash removes growth, spores and food source in one process, and drying the rug through to the backing is what makes the cure permanent.

  • Colony removed at depth
  • Antimicrobial immersion wash
  • Dried through, cured properly

Rug Moth Treatment

Moth grubs work the quiet zones of quiet houses, and acreage homes with stored wool are their favourite address. Every life stage is treated and every trace washed away.

By the time chewed pile shows, the infestation is established, so the response has to be complete: eggs, larvae and adults treated, the rug washed through, and storage corrected so the cycle cannot restart. The advice comes home with the rug at no extra charge.

  • Complete life-cycle treatment
  • All traces washed out
  • Storage corrected for good

Stain Protection

An invisible barrier applied after washing that keeps the next spill sitting on the surface long enough to towel away. Cheap insurance for rugs a long way from help.

Out here the next incident is inevitable and the rug is large, so prevention pays twice. Applied to freshly washed pile the treatment changes nothing you can see or feel, and it converts most future spills from a booking into a paper towel and thirty seconds.

  • Applied after the wash
  • Nothing visible changes
  • Most spills become towel jobs

Where a Clear Mountain rug gets washed

Collected on Clear Mountain, washed at YatalaThe rolled rug comes down the ridge in our van and is hand washed in full immersion at Unit 9/38 Computer Rd, Yatala QLD 4207.
About 65 minutes down the M1Down Eatons Crossing Road, onto the Gateway and south along the motorway, then the same climb home once it is dry.

You never do the drive. Clear Mountain is batched onto the scheduled hills day with its neighbours, pickup and delivery ride with that run, and your window is confirmed once the day is locked in.

A lodge, two lost schools and the forest

Three marks of the mountain

The retreat on the ridge, the farm schools that came and went, and the state forest that never left.

Clear Mountain Lodge

The ridge's retreat: spa, vineyard and 20 hectares of bushland.

The lodge is proof people drive up this mountain for things done properly. We drive up it too: the rolled rug leaves your door on the scheduled hills run and comes back hand washed from Yatala.

The two lost farm schools

Branch Creek Primary ran 1889 to 1913, Clear Mountain State School 1903 to 1947.

Districts like this keep things for decades, rugs included. If yours has been down since the house went up, an honest assessment will tell you exactly what a proper wash can still bring back.

The lookout and the forest edge

State forest wraps the locality, with a lookout over the timbered country to the north.

Forest-edge living is hard on rugs: dust, damp and whatever the dog found out there. A full immersion hand wash at Yatala takes all of it out, with the 48-hour re-wash guarantee standing behind the result.

Texture feels better in Clear Mountain
Our cowhide rug had a stale smell, and I was worried it would go stiff if cleaned badly. We wanted it fresh without looking like it had been scrubbed hard. The care instructions afterwards were practical and easy to follow. It came back softer and fresher than it had been in ages. It was not treated like a normal carpet job, which is what I wanted for a rug with stale smell. That one clean made the space feel less tired.

Localities collected with Clear Mountain

Cashmere, Eatons Hill, Closeburn, Draper and the rest of the hills schedule.

Good to know

Asked from the ridge

Our rugs sit under heavy furniture and never move. Do they still need washing?

They need it more, not less. A rug that never moves collects grit in one traffic pattern and holds damp in the shaded zones under furniture, so wear and must both concentrate. A full wash resets the whole piece, and rotating it when it comes back spreads the next few years more evenly.

Does an oversized rug cost more to have collected?

Collection is simply part of the scheduled hills run, whatever the rug's size; the run exists to move big rugs. The wash itself is priced on size, fibre and condition, quoted firmly before work begins, so a three-metre piece naturally costs more to wash than a hall runner, but you know the figure up front and nothing changes after.

How do you actually dry something three metres long right through?

In purpose-built drying conditions at the facility, with airflow reaching the foundation until every layer is dry, checked before release. A deck or a sunny day cannot finish the middle of a big rug, which is why home-dried pieces so often develop a musty stripe down the centre.

Can our place and the in-laws at Cashmere go on the same day?

Easily, since both sit on the same hills run. Each address books its own form, the driver collects from both doors on the scheduled day, and any address sending more than one rug gets $20 off every rug after its first.

The dogs come inside every storm and the rug pays for it. Does dog urine wash out of big wool rugs?

It does, at any size. Urine settles into the foundation and stays chemically active, sharpening on every humid day, and no surface product reaches it. We submerge the whole rug at Yatala, flush the residue out, treat the source with enzymes and dry the piece through the middle. Storm season can continue; the rug no longer keeps score.

After the last storm week the spare room rug smells of mildew. Too far gone?

Usually not, if it gets to us soon. Early mildew washes out fully, treatment deals with what the damp started, and complete drying stops the relapse. Wait a season and the answer gets less cheerful, so note the smell on the form and get the rug on the next run.
