The South Pine Sports Complex opened in 2016 and earned its place in history quickly: on 18 February 2017 the Brisbane Lions hosted Collingwood here in the club's first ever AFL Women's home game, before a capacity crowd of about 3,000. The Lions' reserves have called the ground home, and the wider complex carries fields for cricket, rugby league and union, soccer and hockey, plus events from the Queensland Murri Carnival to the Wheelchair State Challenge.

What began as the Coe family's farm flats grew into one of northern Brisbane's biggest industrial and commercial estates, home to around 900 businesses by 2005 and more than 22 percent of the former shire's employment. Trades, manufacturers, wholesalers and showrooms fill the grid between South Pine Road and the river, which means a considerable share of the northside's utes start and finish their working day in Brendale.

Brendale went from farm to airstrip to job engine inside a century. Rug washing barely changed in the same span, because hands, water and complete drying still beat every shortcut invented since.
Thomas and Samuel Coe settled the South Pine Flats in 1870, and the district stayed open farmland long enough to serve as an airstrip during the Second World War. When development finally arrived and the suburb needed a name, it took Brendale in 1980 from a horse stud owned by a land developer. Few Brisbane suburbs are named after a paddock of horses, and fewer still turned that paddock into an industrial estate within a single generation.

Why does our office rug look grey no matter how often it is vacuumed?
Estate dust is finer and oilier than house dust, and it bonds to fibre where vacuums cannot break it loose. Only a full wash dissolves that film. The colour that returns after immersion surprises most first-time commercial customers.
Can one booking cover the workshop rug and the one at home?
Yes. One pickup can take the house rug and the office rug together, with $20 off each rug after the first. Note both addresses on the form and the driver plans for it.
Is a hand wash really better than the truck-mount cleaning we used before?
For rugs, yes. Truck-mount gear exists for fixed carpet, and it forces moisture into a loose rug that it can never fully extract. Immersion washing at our facility rinses the whole rug through and then dries it completely, which on-site carpet-style cleaning cannot do.
