Big-block service for a suburb named after wool
Both parents working, kids at two schools, a dog and possibly a pony: Cashmere households do not have spare hours for errands. So the service asks almost nothing of you. Send the form, leave the rolled rug by the door, and it rides the hills day to Yatala. The wash happens by hand, the price is agreed before work starts, and the rug comes home genuinely dry.

Rug Cleaning Cashmere for Young Families in Big Homes
Young families on three thousand square metres
Cashmere is acreage family territory: modern homes on blocks of 3,000 square metres and up, pools, sheds, horses on the western properties and a ute in every second driveway, spread through the D'Aguilar foothills with Lake Samsonvale forming the entire northern boundary. The median age here is only 35, which means young families in big houses, and rugs that work accordingly. Oversized pieces anchor open-plan living rooms, playroom rugs absorb daily punishment, and the good wool rug in the formal lounge survives untouched right up until someone brings a puppy home.
Premier Rug Cleaning washes all of them, hand and water, no shortcuts.
A lake on one side, ridges on the other
Between still water on one side and forested ridges on the other, Cashmere air carries moisture most mornings, and homes tucked into tree cover dry slowly after wet weeks. Add the dust that acreage driveways and paddocks produce and you get the classic hills combination working into rug pile all year: damp feeding must from below, grit sawing at fibre from within. An immersion wash at our Yatala facility flushes out both, and the rug is dried completely, through to the foundation, before it travels back up the hill.
A lake for a boundary, a wool word for a name
Cashmere's name is a happy accident: early landholder James Cash gave the district his surname, and the map turned rough grazing country into a wool word. The lake completed the identity in 1976, when North Pine Dam closed and Lake Samsonvale rose along the entire northern boundary, its water kept quiet by permit-only fishing and a small annual allowance of non-petrol craft. In a suburb without a shopping strip, the pocket reserves, Jan Sked, Ogle, One Mile and Raymont, do the gathering instead. The hills run stitches it together with Warner and Eatons Hill on one scheduled day, and a suburb spelt like wool gets its wool washed properly.

Where your rug is washed
The Cashmere the maps show
A northern boundary made of water, a name with a wool pun in it, and the pocket reserves that stand in for a town centre.
Cashmere's whole northern boundary is the lake behind North Pine Dam.
Lakeside air is soft on people and sneaky on wool, feeding damp into the pile week after week. Complete drying at our Yatala facility, right through the foundation, is what keeps a lake-country rug from going musty.
Cashmere's northern edge is water: Lake Samsonvale, the 214,000 megalitre reservoir created when North Pine Dam opened in August 1976 to supply Brisbane's northern suburbs. The dam wall itself sits downstream at Joyner, but the quiet upper shoreline belongs to Cashmere, and it is a rare kind of boundary. Fishing runs on a stocked-impoundment permit and boating is limited to a few hundred non-petrol craft permits a year, so the water stays still and the birdlife stays put.
Named for early property owner James Cash, with an accidental wool pun attached.
A suburb that shares its name with fine wool suits us. Cashmere, merino or hard-wearing Axminster, the method at Yatala holds: identify the fibre honestly, wash it by hand, dry it completely.
Cashmere takes its name from early property owner James Cash, whose landholding in these foothills gave the district its identity long before suburb maps existed. Locals enjoy the accidental joke: Cash's rough grazing country ended up wearing the name of one of the finest wools there is. The suburb has kept a character he would recognise, forest ridges and acreage blocks instead of fences to the footpath.
Jan Sked Reserve, Ogle Park, One Mile Park and Raymont Reserve, scattered through the acreage.
Where the bush is the main attraction, rugs collect what the bush sheds: dust, pollen and whatever the dog rolled in. Immersion washing lifts it all out from the deepest level of the pile, beyond any vacuum's reach.
Cashmere skips the showpiece parkland because the whole suburb is effectively parkland, but it keeps four public reserves tucked among the blocks: Jan Sked Reserve, Ogle Park, One Mile Park and Raymont Reserve. In a suburb with no shopping strip they do the meeting-point work, the places kids ride to after school and the dogs know every tree. The bush handles the rest.

Cashmere parents ask us
The new puppy chose the formal lounge rug. Is it saveable?
Almost always, and faster action makes it easier. Blot what you can, skip the supermarket sprays, and note it on the form. Urine rinses out completely in a full immersion wash, smell included, and if the dyes have been affected you get an honest verdict on that before any work is charged.
Is a long gravel driveway a problem for the pickup?
Not at all. The driver comes to the door of acreage properties all over the hills run every week, collects the rolled rug and loads it in the van. If a rug is too big to roll alone, say so on the form and it gets sorted at the door.
How is this different from hiring a carpet cleaner with a van?
A van cleans your rug on your floor, from the surface down, and the rug stays damp in the middle. We take the rug away and wash it in full immersion at Yatala, which works from the foundation up, then dry it completely in controlled conditions. Different tool, different result, and for wool it is the difference that matters.
Three rugs, two kids, one dog. Can the whole lot go in together?
That is the efficient way to do it. One pickup on the hills day covers every rug in the house, each one after the first is $20 cheaper, and the whole floor resets at once. Plenty of Cashmere families make it an annual event.
Does living beside the lake actually change what our rugs need?
It changes the drying more than the washing. Lakeside air keeps interior humidity higher, so rugs here hold more moisture at the base than the same rug would inland. Our process finishes with complete drying through to the backing, which is exactly what a Cashmere rug needs before it goes back on the floor.
Does the hills run also cover Warner and Eatons Hill?
Same day, same truck. Cashmere is collected with Warner, Eatons Hill and Clear Mountain on the scheduled hills run, and your window lands once that day's list is set. If the neighbours' rugs are due too, separate bookings ride the one schedule without anyone driving anywhere.
