One clear figure for rugs in a fast-turnover strip
Owners here need to know the number before a changeover, not after it. The rug is inspected once collected, quoted once, and the figure holds. If a wash will not fix what you are looking at, we say so before the work rather than after.

Rug washing Castaways Beach, on a strip between park and sea
Smaller than most people assume
Castaways Beach is 2.8 square kilometres, 5.1 kilometres by road southeast of Noosa Heads and 3.4 kilometres south of Sunshine Beach, bounded by the Coral Sea to the east and Lake Weyba to the west. Castaways Creek divides it from Marcus Beach immediately to the south. The population was 617 at the 2006 census, 606 in 2011, 656 in 2016 and 683 in 2021, which is under seven hundred people across fifteen years and four counts. There is no school inside the locality and no shopping centre. The great majority of that 2.8 square kilometres is Noosa National Park, with the built suburb squeezed onto a narrow strip near the highway. It is a beach-house and holiday-let street, not a town.
Rugs here do a whole year of work inside about twelve busy weeks, and then sit in a shut house waiting for the next lot.
A name that turns out to be plain
The Castaways Motel, owned by Peter and Marea Brown, was the first development on this section of coast, sitting on the eastern side of the highway facing north. The name carried straight across the road into the Castaways Estate, whose streets picked up the same nautical theme, Wavecrest Drive among them. The wider run of coastal towns from Sunshine Beach to Peregian Beach developed under a lease arrangement between the State Government and developer T. M. Burke, who built the coastal highway in exchange for development rights and the release of freehold land at Alexandra Bay into what became Noosa National Park. So the name is not a legend and not a shipwreck. It is a motel and a subdivision, which is a better story because it is the true one, and it is the same standard we hold ourselves to when describing what a wash will and will not achieve.
Salt on one side, still water on the other
A strip this narrow gets humidity from both directions at once. The Coral Sea puts salt into the air on every onshore breeze, and Lake Weyba sits behind holding flat, still moisture that does not clear the way surf air does. National park bushland presses in behind every street, which keeps the shade in and the airflow down. The result in a rug is salt plus damp plus sand, three things working together in the base of the pile, and salt is the one that makes the other two worse because it holds moisture indefinitely. A full immersion wash is the only process that removes all three at once, and the rug then dries indoors under control rather than in a beach house that never quite airs out between guests.
Our Sunshine Coast office, and where the water actually is
Our Sunshine Coast office
Premier Rug Cleaning Sunshine Coast
The listing covers a service area, which is the truthful description. There is no counter here and nothing is washed on this coast. The van collects from the property and the rug is washed at Yatala.
The longest leg we run north
We absorb that leg entirely. Castaways Beach rides the Noosa day with Marcus Beach and Peregian, and the window comes once the run is scheduled, which we can fit around a changeover.
A motel, a creek and a small census count
Nothing here is dressed up beyond what is on the record.
Castaways Beach takes its name from the Castaways Motel, the first development on this stretch of coast, built by Peter and Marea Brown, with the estate that followed carrying the nautical theme through its street names.
A name that traces to one motel and one subdivision rather than a vague coastal legend is exactly the kind of precision we bring to describing what a rug is and what it needs.
The Castaways Motel, owned by Peter and Marea Brown, was the first development on this section of coast, sitting on the eastern side of the highway facing north. The name carried straight across the road into the Castaways Estate, whose street names picked up the same nautical theme, Wavecrest Drive among them. The wider run of coastal towns from Sunshine Beach to Peregian Beach developed under a lease arrangement between the State Government and developer T. M. Burke, who built the coastal highway in exchange for development rights.
Castaways Creek splits this coast into Castaways Beach to the north and Marcus Beach to the south, and most of this locality's own land area sits inside Noosa National Park.
A strip hemmed in by park on one side and ocean on the other builds salt, sand and guest traffic into a rug faster than almost anywhere else we collect from.
Castaways Creek flows east into the Coral Sea, and the beach either side of it takes its name accordingly, Castaways Beach extending north from the creek and Marcus Beach extending south. Bounded by the Coral Sea to the east and Lake Weyba to the west, the great majority of the locality's land area is Noosa National Park bushland, with the built suburb itself squeezed onto a narrow strip near the highway.
The population has stayed under 700 across four censuses, 617 in 2006, 606 in 2011, 656 in 2016 and 683 in 2021, with no school inside the locality in any of them.
A small holiday strip sends rugs that have done a hard, short season, and the free re-wash guarantee applies whether the rug came from a permanent home or a property let most weekends.
From 617 residents in 2006 to 683 in 2021, Castaways Beach has grown only modestly across fifteen years, and it has never had a government school within its own boundary, with families relying on Sunshine Beach to the north. It is an honestly small, holiday-home-heavy locality rather than a township with a centre of its own, and nothing about the way it is described here goes past that.

Castaways Beach questions, answered plainly
Can a collection be timed around a changeover?
Usually, yes. The Noosa day is scheduled in advance, so once we have it we can give you a window and you can pick the gap that suits between bookings. Pickup and delivery are both included and neither is charged for regardless of the distance north.
How do you price a rug out of a holiday let?
The same way as any other rug, off the piece itself. Size, fibre, construction and the state it is in all feed one figure, set at inspection after collection. It does not change afterwards, and both driver trips are already included.
How much sand actually comes out of a beach rug?
Far more than people expect, and it is worth doing for structural reasons rather than appearance. Sand grains are angular and they cut fibre underfoot once they reach the foundation. Under water they have somewhere to fall away to, which is something no dry method can offer.
A guest's dog urinated on a rug and it still smells weeks later. Fixable?
In most cases yes. Time hides urine rather than removing it, because the residue is in the backing and only reacts when the air is humid, which here it usually is. A bath washes that out, an enzyme stage handles the odour source, and any dye damage is described at the assessment.
Do you also collect from Marcus Beach, Peregian Beach and Noosa Heads?
Yes, along with Sunshine Beach and Noosaville on the same day. If you manage more than one property, the rugs can go on a single collection, and every rug after the first is $20 off.
How long is the rug out of the property?
About 7 days from collection to delivery. Where a booking makes that impossible, ask about 48-hour express, which carries an additional charge. Both finish with indoor drying in air we control, which is the part a coastal house genuinely cannot do.
