Mould Rug Cleaning
Bush-block shade plus canopy humidity grows mould on a resting rug faster than anyone expects. The surface bloom is only the visible fraction of the tenant.
Wiping mould rearranges it. Removing it takes the antimicrobial immersion wash, which deals with growth, spores and food source in one process, followed by drying to the backing that withdraws the living conditions altogether. Terry Morris founded Sirromet in 1998, spelling his surname backwards for the label, and opened the winery in 2000 on more than 100 hectares of hillside looking toward Moreton Bay. The Cox Rayner designed complex has collected architecture and tourism awards, runs a restaurant and a concert lawn, and turns fruit from the company's Granite Belt vineyards into wine at 938 Mount Cotton Road.
The koala forest Jack Venman spent a lifetime restoring, then sold for one dollar.
People chose Mount Cotton for the bush, and they hold onto good things the way Jack held his forest. The wool rugs we collect here are often decades old and worth every minute of a careful hand wash.
Jack Venman bought 255 acres of logged-over bush here in 1954 for 510 pounds and spent decades letting it heal. In 1971 he sold 103 hectares to the Albert Shire Council for a single dollar so the forest would be protected forever. Gazetted as a park in 1975 and later a national park, it is one of the largest stands of coastal lowland eucalypt forest left near Brisbane and a working research area for the state koala team.

A suburb where the same families stay five generations is a suburb full of inherited rugs. Washing them gently, by hand, at our own facility is precisely what a 29 year old family business is for.
Mount Cotton Provisional School opened on 30 October 1876 to serve the German farm selectors who had taken up the ridges earlier that decade, and it became Mount Cotton State School in 1909. Nearly 150 years later it remains the heart of the village, and families descended from those original selectors are still part of the school community.
