One valley trip, one straight price

Most jobs on acreage you handle yourself. Washing a large wool rug is not one of them, because doing it right takes immersion tanks, controlled drying rooms and somewhere to hang a piece that weighs as much as a fence post. Send the form and we bring all of that to bear on your rug without you leaving the property.

Rug Washing Armstrong Creek Sized for Homestead Rugs

Acreage rooms, acreage rugs

Armstrong Creek is farm and acreage country in the Dayboro valley, 3 kilometres south of the township and rising westward into the D'Aguilar Range. Only a few hundred people live across its 25 square kilometres, on homesteads and ranch-style homes with long gravel drives, big sheds and open living rooms floored in timber. The rugs match the scale of the houses: broad wool pieces in front of the fire, runners down long hallways, and the everyday rug that takes boots, dogs and paddock dust without complaint. Premier Rug Cleaning has hand washed rugs like these for 29 years, and the size that defeats a laundry or a driveway hose is normal work for our facility.

Fine grit works deep into rug pile and grinds away at the fibre every time someone walks over it, which is how a good rug wears out years early.

Fog, dust and gravel roads

The valley makes its own weather. Morning fog settles on the flats, the range pulls down cool damp nights, and when the gravel roads dry out the dust travels. Vacuuming skims the surface. Full immersion washing at Yatala rinses the grit out of the foundation, and complete drying in our rooms means the rug comes home ready for the floor, fog or no fog.

How the rural run works

Armstrong Creek runs to a few hundred residents across 25 square kilometres, and we will be plain about what that means: the truck comes up on the scheduled Dayboro-district day, not on demand. Batching the valley's jobs is what keeps pickup and delivery free at 78 kilometres, and the window is confirmed once that day's run is built. Nothing else changes. The driver knows gravel drives, farm gates and farm dogs by long practice, the wash takes the same care over a homestead rug as anything from town, and the drying rooms handle sizes no laundry shed can.

Rug Cleaning Armstrong Creek

Cleaning for rugs that live a genuine working life, boots and dogs included, at addresses the average service will not drive to.

We do drive to them. The rural run covers the valley on a scheduled day, the driver collects rolled from gate or verandah, and pickup stays free.

  • We genuinely come out
  • Gate or verandah pickup
  • Free at 78 kilometres

Rug Washing Armstrong Creek

Paddock grit is the quiet killer of good wool, grinding the fibre with every footstep until the rug ages early.

The full bath at Yatala rinses grit out of the foundation where it does the damage, and the drying rooms finish rugs of any size properly.

  • The quiet killer removed
  • Foundation-deep rinse
  • Any size dried through
Most popular

Stain Removal

Boot polish, red soil and fireside sparks mark a homestead rug over the years.

Red soil, polish and spark burns each get named and treated on their own terms, with a straight call first on what will lift and what is fixed in place for good.

  • Homestead marks known
  • Treated to suit
  • Straight calls first

Pet Stain and Odour

Working dogs earn their spot by the fire, and the rug records the arrangement.

No yard hose reaches where an accident actually lives, down in the backing. The bath does, and the record is wiped clean.

  • The record wiped
  • Source-level removal
  • Beats any hose job

Odour Removal

Valley fog, wood fires and dogs give a big rug plenty to hold onto.

Fog, smoke and dog all wash out together once the rug is fully immersed. It comes home neutral, ready for the next season in front of the fire.

  • The valley load lifted
  • Neutral again
  • Ready for the season

Rug Spot Cleaning

One incident on a big rug can be answered without the full treatment.

Spot work keeps the response proportionate, and because the truck is in the valley on schedule anyway, small jobs stay practical.

  • Proportionate answers
  • Practical on the run
  • Small jobs welcome

Rug Steam Cleaning

Hardy synthetics in sheds, offices and second rooms suit steam extraction.

Steam handles tough fibre with surface soil efficiently. The inspection sends the good wool to the bath and keeps steam for the workhorses.

  • Workhorse fibres steamed
  • Good wool bathed
  • Efficiency where due

Rug Dry Cleaning

The inherited piece in the front room may refuse water, and testing will say so.

Fragile dyes and tired foundations take the low-moisture route, cleaned within their limits. Age is respected, not risked.

  • Testing decides
  • Age respected
  • Limits never pushed

Water Damage Restoration

A storm-lifted roof sheet or a burst tank can soak a rug overnight out here.

Drying happens before washing on every soaked rug, because that sequence is what beats mould. For a genuine emergency the rural run can be worked around.

  • Rural emergencies real
  • Mould denied
  • The run flexes for it

Mould Rug Cleaning

Valley fog and shed storage give mould everything it wants.

Caught inside the first weeks it washes away completely. Left a season, it needs an inspection and a frank verdict first, before a dollar moves.

  • Fog-country risk known
  • Early growth removed
  • Honest scope first

Rug Moth Treatment

Wool stored in a quiet shed corner feeds moths for seasons at a time.

One immersion wash ends the shed colony outright. You get an unvarnished look at the damage, and the wool gets stored right afterwards.

  • Shed wool rescued
  • Every stage gone
  • Stored right after

Stain Protection

A protectant coat buys a working rug time against the next muddy season.

Applied evenly after washing, it slows spills and soil without changing the feel underfoot, and out here it earns its keep quickly.

  • Muddy seasons slowed
  • Feel unchanged
  • Earns its keep fast

A valley that wastes nothing

Three Armstrong Creek stories

A picnic railway, a school that moved up a mountain and the range that walls the valley.

The Armstrong Creek railway story

The valley station on the old Dayboro line, a picnic favourite from 1920 to 1955.

The railway was the first city service to reach this valley, and the arrangement still works: we come out, the driver collects the rolled rug, and the real work happens at Yatala before it rides home.

The Armstrong Creek school story

The one-teacher school that served the valley from 1900, then moved up the range.

A timber building worth carting up a mountain says everything about keeping good things in service. A well-made wool rug has decades left in it when it is washed properly instead of replaced.

The D'Aguilar Range edge

The locality's western wall, where farm country climbs past 500 metres into national park.

Living against the range means dust, pollen and damp find every rug in the house. Our wash reaches the base of the pile where all three settle, the layer no vacuum ever touches.

Off-site clean helped in Nathan
After a few years in the main room, the Oriental rug needed a proper wash rather than another quick vacuum. The collection made sense because the rug was too bulky for my car. It came back dry, clean and ready to put straight down. That small change made the room feel cleaner overall.

Good to know

Questions from the valley

Do you honestly collect this far up the valley?

Yes. Armstrong Creek sits on our Dayboro-district rural run, so the truck is in the valley on a scheduled day regardless. Book by form, roll the rug, and the driver collects it from the verandah or the gate, whichever suits.

What does pickup cost when the house is 78 kilometres from Yatala?

Nothing. Pickup and delivery are free on the rural run the same as they are in the city. You pay the wash price the driver fixes after looking at the rug, and that figure does not move afterwards.

Can the driver manage a long gravel driveway and a farm gate?

Every week. Leave any gate instructions on the form and roll the rug ready. If the dogs need warning, mention that too. The driver has collected from stations, sheds and verandahs all over the district.

Are Dayboro and Kobble Creek picked up on the same rural run?

They are. The run covers Armstrong Creek, Dayboro, King Scrub, Kobble Creek and the surrounding localities on one scheduled day, and with $20 coming off every rug after the first, neighbouring properties often combine a booking.

How long before a big homestead rug comes back?

Seven days is standard from collection to return, including complete drying, which large dense wool genuinely needs. A 48-hour express service exists at additional cost. And the guarantee is plain: mention anything within 48 hours of it arriving home and the wash is redone free.

Working dogs sleep on the homestead rug. Can urine and dog smell be washed out of a big rug?

Yes, size changes nothing at the facility. Urine residue holds at the base of dense pile, and the only fix that lasts is dissolving it at the source in a full immersion wash. Big rugs get the same bath, a longer rinse and a proper stint in the drying rooms, then ride the rural run home.
