You get a figure after the rug has actually been looked at, not before. Once it is set it does not move, and nothing gets washed until you have said yes to it.

Rug washing Augustine Heights, for houses still finding their furniture
Hard floors everywhere, so the rug does everything
Augustine Heights covers 5.1 square kilometres in the City of Ipswich, 33.6 kilometres southwest of the Brisbane city centre and 17.1 kilometres east-southeast of Ipswich, one of the suburbs created within Greater Springfield. The 2021 census counted 6,088 residents, up from 4,880 five years earlier. What the numbers do not show is what the inside of a house here looks like: rendered family homes rolled out from the 2000s, open plan living, double garages, and tiles or hybrid boards running from the entry to the back door. There is almost no carpet in this suburb. That makes the living room rug the softest thing in the building, and it collects everything a hard floor will not hold.
Where no carpet exists at all, the rug is not a decoration. It is the floor covering, and it wears like one.
Builders' dust is the first thing a new rug meets
Estate streets are still being finished around here, and fine construction dust travels a long way on a westerly. It settles into a new rug within weeks of the furniture arriving, and because it is pale and even it does nothing obvious at first. What it does instead is sit at the base of the pile and abrade the fibre every time someone walks across it, which is exactly why a two-year-old rug in a new suburb can feel harsher underfoot than a twenty-year-old rug in an old one. A full immersion wash lifts that grit out at the foundation, before it has done the damage that cannot be undone. It is the cheapest protection a good rug will ever get, and it is the one most people skip.
Corridor heat, sealed houses and the wet weeks
The Ipswich corridor runs hotter than Brisbane proper through summer, with storm cells arriving off the ranges and long, still, humid stretches following behind them. Modern homes are sealed well, which keeps the cool in and the moving air out, and a rug in a closed living room takes that damp on and holds it. The result is the smell people blame on the dog or the air conditioning when it is actually the rug. Immersion dissolves what is causing it and rinses the piece clean, and our drying room finishes the job properly rather than leaving something that feels dry on top and is not. Getting out is easy from here, a motorway link the whole way and one exit at the end, roughly 42 kilometres and 35 to 40 minutes. Owners here often ask how soon after moving in a rug should be washed. The honest answer is once the estate around you has stopped generating dust, and sooner if a builder is still working two doors down.

What happens after the driver leaves
The suburb belongs to our scheduled corridor day, so the trip out and the trip back both ride free on that day, and a confirmed window follows when the route is drawn.
A college, a relocated chapel and a suburb built at speed
Twenty years old, with a hundred year old building at its centre.
St Augustine's College opened months before the suburb around it was named.
New suburbs get furnished from scratch, and the rugs bought for them are worth protecting from the first year. An immersion wash clears builders' dust before it grinds the pile down.
The college took its first classes on 29 January 2003, a Prep to Year 12 Catholic college on the new district's high ground. The suburb around it was officially named and bounded on 19 September 2003, eight months later, which makes Augustine Heights a rare Queensland suburb that is younger than its own school.
A country church relocated whole to serve a brand new suburb.
Relocating a 1923 church rather than knocking it down is exactly the instinct we work by. A well made rug, like a well made building, earns its keeping.
The timber church now standing at St Augustine's College began life as St Stephen's Catholic Church at Laravale, opened near Beaudesert on 18 February 1923 by Archbishop James Duhig before a crowd of 400. On 28 July 2003 the entire building was relocated to Augustine Heights, where it serves as St Monica's Chapel for the school and the wider community, a hundred year old building inside a twenty year old suburb.
Census counts and school openings track how quickly this ground filled.
Fast filling streets mean new floors and new rugs. We keep them looking new: honest assessment, hand washing at Yatala, and $20 off every additional rug on the one pickup.
Augustine Heights belongs to Greater Springfield, often described as Australia's largest master-planned community, and its own numbers show the pace. There were 4,880 residents in 2016 and 6,088 by 2021, with Augusta State School opening in 2011 and Woogaroo Creek State School following in January 2023 to keep up with the enrolments.

Augustine Heights questions, answered straight
How much does rug cleaning in Augustine Heights cost?
The rug decides, and the three things that decide it, size, fibre and condition, cannot be read down a phone line. So the inspection comes first and the quote follows it. After that the number does not move. Both legs of the trip belong to the corridor day. If a piece does not justify the spend, that is said at inspection.
Our rug is only two years old. Does it really need washing yet?
In this suburb, usually. Estate dust is fine and pale, so it damages quietly while the rug still presents perfectly well. Washing a young rug here is preventive rather than cosmetic, and it is the gap between a piece that lasts fifteen years and a piece that looks weary at six.
Is a faster turnaround available if we need one?
It is. The 48-hour express service puts a rug back inside two days for an extra charge, and it exists for photography bookings, settlements and family gatherings. Standard is around a week. Both come out of the drying room dry to the weave instead of dry across the tips.
The puppy urinated on the family room rug repeatedly. Is it recoverable?
Generally it can be. Liquid runs through the pile and collects in the base weave, so a surface spray covers the wrong layer and loses ground every humid week. Full immersion rinses the residue away from underneath and an enzyme treatment settles the remainder. Where repeated accidents have marked the dye, that is named at the assessment.
Do you collect from Bellbird Park, Springfield Lakes and Redbank Plains too?
We do, on the one scheduled corridor day. Bellbird Park, Springfield Lakes and Redbank Plains all sit on it, so a relative one suburb across can be collected with you. Every rug after the very first has $20 off, so it is worth ringing around the family before booking.
Do you take the very large rugs that fill an open plan living area?
Yes, and they are the pieces that need us most. Anything oversized will not go in a car and will not go in a domestic machine, which is precisely why it sits uncleaned for years. Our driver takes it rolled from the door and the wash floor was sized for exactly that.
