Logan Village spreads over 39.5 square kilometres of semi-rural country in the south of the City of Logan, about 43 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD and twenty kilometres south of Logan Central, and only 5,316 people lived here at the 2021 census. Pet Stain and Odour
Dogs come inside off wet paddocks and old dogs have accidents. Both end up in the same place: soaked past the pile and sitting in the foundation where the smell keeps its home.
Bottled treatments reach the top of the pile and stop there. Immersion pushes urine residue out through the backing entirely, an enzyme stage takes apart whatever survives that, and a rug dried right through has no moisture left in it for the next wet spell to work on.

Odour Removal
The smell a rug picks up in a house that lives with its doors open: animals, hay, damp river air and a few summers of all three settling into the base of the pile.
Country air carries more than town air and the rug catches most of it. A full wash dissolves what has been accumulating and the rinse carries it out of the fibre, so the rug comes home neutral. We do not perfume anything, because perfume is just a second smell added to the first.

Rug Spot Cleaning
Sometimes the damage is one spot and everything around it is fine. In that case the rug stays home: dye tested on site, the mark drawn out patiently, then the pile combed back level.

Rug Dry Cleaning

A wharf, a cottage and a schoolhouse
One of the district's oldest settlements, and it still shows.
The village exists because this was as far up the Logan as boats could go.
A town built on knowing exactly how far a river could carry a load suits our trade. We know what a bath will achieve for a given rug, and it is said before the work starts rather than afterwards.
Logan Village was sited by water logic. Settlement began from 1862 at the head of navigation on the Logan River, the furthest point boats could reliably reach, and the first constructions were a wharf and store built to serve the Townsvale cotton plantation upriver. Wharf Street still carries the name. The Logan Agricultural Reserve was proclaimed in 1862 and extended by 25,000 acres in 1863, the township was surveyed in 1865, and the river town grew from there. Captain Logan's 1827 expedition had camped near this spot decades earlier.
The district's oldest buildings stand on the Green between Wharf and River Streets.

The Logan Village Green, bounded by Wharf, River and Logan Streets, holds the settlement's memory in timber: the 1886 Col Ferguson Cottage, a railway fettler's cottage that now houses the Logan Village Museum, officially opened in 1989, the old vicarage and the 1932 community hall. The railway itself arrived on 21 September 1885 when the Beaudesert line opened through the village, with the Canungra branch running from 1915 until 1955, and the fettler's cottage is the working souvenir of that era.

The Village of Logan Provisional School opened on 1 February 1872, back when the wharf was still working, and it has taught this district under one name or another ever since. Its 1902 building served generations before the school moved to its present North Street site in 1981, and the old heritage-listed building found a second life on the Green beside the museum precinct. A school running continuously since 1872 puts the district's steadiness in plain sight.

The old dog has urinated on the lounge rug. Can that be fixed?
In most cases yes. Urine does not stay up in the pile, it works down to the foundation, and nothing sprayed on top can follow it there. Submerging the whole rug reverses that journey, enzymes handle the residue, and a bone-dry piece holds no moisture for the smell to return through. Any dye movement gets reported at the assessment.

Can a rug that has lived in a shed be brought back?
Often, though the answer depends on what got to it first. Damp storage brings mould and moths, and both are treatable, but structural damage from either is not reversible.
