A firm figure for acreage sized rugs
Big rugs deserve a considered figure rather than a guess over the phone. The piece is inspected at the door, the price is set once, and it stays there.

Rug washing Gaven, sized for the blocks it sits on
Big blocks make big rugs, and big rugs never get washed
Gaven is a rural residential pocket of 6.7 square kilometres immediately north of Nerang, with the motorway drawing its eastern boundary and 1,638 residents recorded at the 2021 census. The suburb climbs from the motorway flat into low hinterland hills: family homes on half acre and acreage blocks, horse properties on the western rises, and newer builds filling the gaps between them. Houses built for blocks that size have rooms to match, and rooms that size take rugs a city house would never fit. That is where the problem starts. A wide wool rug will not go into any domestic machine, will not fit in a laundry, and cannot be carried out by one person, so it stays on the floor collecting gravel drive dust year after year until somebody decides it is finished. Very often it is not finished at all.
A rug that will not fit in any machine tends to stay on the floor until someone decides it is finished. Usually it is not.
Where coastal air meets the hinterland's
Gaven sits on the line where two climates meet. Humid summer nights drift up from the Broadwater plain, storm cells roll off the ranges through Nerang, and there is enough elevation here for cool damp winter mornings that hang around until mid morning. On top of that, acreage living supplies a steady load of its own: gravel drives, paddocks, horses and dogs, all of which arrive indoors on boots and paws. Through the dry months that dust works down into the pile, and through the wet the humidity binds it in place and starts the must that develops under furniture nobody moves. The damage is at the foundation, so it shows up as a rug that has gone flat and grey rather than one that looks soiled. Immersion washing strips both loads from the base of the fibre, and the rug is dried completely before it comes back down the drive.
Under half an hour, and the crew does the lifting
The practical objection to washing a very large rug is moving it, and that part belongs to us. The crew rolls it at the door, loads it, and brings it back and lays it down again, so nobody in the house has to wrestle anything. From Gaven it is about 33 kilometres to our wash floor, usually 25 to 30 minutes down the M1 from the suburb's own edge of the motorway, which makes this one of the quicker pickups on the central Gold Coast loop. Sitting hard against the motorway is the reason. Pickup and delivery are both included on that run, every rug beyond the first on the same visit is $20 off, and the piece does not come home until it is dry all the way through rather than dry on top.

Premier Rug Cleaning and Washing - Gold CoastUnit 9/38 Computer Rd
Yatala QLD 4207
The Gold Coast listing is at Yatala, and the wash floor occupies the same address. There is no separate shopfront, which suits a business where the work is the whole point.
Where a Gaven rug goes
Gaven sits hard against the motorway on our central Gold Coast loop, so the van reaches the acreage streets easily and both trips ride along free.
A councillor's name, an estate that moved out, and sixty eight hectares of green
A small suburb that gave most of its ground to the neighbour and kept the quiet part.
Gaven is named for Eric Gaven, three decades of local public service.
A suburb named for long service suits a business built on it: 29 years of washing rugs by hand, and the same honest assessment for every one that comes in.
The suburb carries the name of Eric Gaven, who joined the Nerang Shire Council in 1935 and went on to more than thirty years of public life across the shire council and the state parliament, winning the Southport seat in 1950 and serving until 1966. His surname now sits on the suburb and on a state electorate covering this corner of the hinterland edge. Plenty of suburbs are named for distant dignitaries. This one is named for a local who did the work.
Most of 1990s Gaven grew into Pacific Pines, and the name stayed on the acreage.
The acreage that kept the name kept the big rugs too. Large homestead pieces are standard cargo on our runs here, and none of them are too big for the wash floor.
The Albert Shire marked Gaven as a future residential area in 1979, and in 1990 developers acquired 800 hectares of former pine plantation on the suburb's western side, planning a 5,800 lot estate. Through the 1990s the streets filled, and in 2004 most of that new ground was formally excised to become the suburb of Pacific Pines. What kept the Gaven name is the older part: the rural residential blocks and acreage that were there before the masterplan, still running at their own pace beside the motorway.
Sixty eight hectares of public green, with a lake along Hotham Drive.
Park afternoons and acreage living come home on paws and boots. Our immersion wash gets the ground in grit out of the pile base, where vacuums never reach.
For a small suburb, Gaven carries generous public ground: about 68 hectares of parkland spread through the blocks, with playgrounds tucked into the loops and the lake reserve along Hotham Drive as the quiet centrepiece. It suits the suburb's temperament, semi rural streets that value space over spectacle, ten minutes from the coast's noise and a long way from it in every other sense.

Gaven questions from the acreage
Our rug is far too big for us to move. Is that a problem?
No, it is the normal job here. The crew rolls it at the door and loads it, then brings it back and lays it down again, so nobody in the house has to lift anything at either end. Wide homestead pieces go through exactly the same process as a small rug, submerged whole and worked by hand.
Does the acreage side of the suburb get the same service?
Yes, and the gravel drives are included. Gaven sits hard against the motorway on the central Gold Coast loop, about 25 to 30 minutes from our wash floor, so the van reaches the rural residential streets on the same scheduled day as everywhere else. Pickup and delivery are both free on that run.
What decides the price?
Size, fibre and condition, which is why the figure follows the inspection rather than the phone call. Once set it does not move. Any rug after the first on that collection takes $20 off, worth knowing when a house has a runner, a lounge piece and a couple of bedroom rugs.
The dog urinated on the big wool rug. Can that be properly fixed?
Yes, provided the treatment reaches the source. Urine soaks through the pile into the backing, so anything sprayed on top quietens it only until the next humid stretch. Submerging the rug clears the residue from the foundation, an enzyme step settles what is left, and complete drying finishes the job.
Do you collect from Highland Park, Molendinar and Oxenford as well?
Yes. One scheduled day covers the hinterland edge of the loop, taking in Highland Park, Carrara, Molendinar, Oxenford and the Coomera streets, so neighbours can share a collection date. The school carrying this suburb's name actually sits over the boundary in Oxenford, which catches people out.
How long will a large rug be away?
Roughly a week, door to door. A rug this size holds a great deal of water and will not be hurried, so it stays with us until the foundation itself has dried. Where a date genuinely cannot shift, the 48 hour express is there at additional cost.
