Hamilton has been Brisbane's address of consequence since the 1860s, when the papers described its riverside filling with fine villas and gentlemen's estates, and it liked the standing enough to run as its own town from 1904 until Greater Brisbane absorbed it in 1925. The suburb rises from the water to 68 metres at the crown of the hill, 3.4 square kilometres holding 8,922 residents at the 2021 census. The suburb runs two markets at once and we collect from both. On the hill: sandstone and timber mansions, Toorak House grandest among them since about 1865, with deep verandahs, formal lounges and inherited rugs whose provenance matters to their owners. Along the river: the Northshore precinct rising on the old wharf land, where designer pieces sit on concrete-slab floors behind glass. The two housing types age their rugs differently, still air and shade on the hill, sealed humidity in the towers, but the remedy is identical: honest assessment of what the rug is, then a hand wash matched to its fibre and dyes at Yatala, then complete drying before it comes home. The standard does not vary by postcode elevation.

Pet Stain and Odour
The apartment cavoodle and the antique rug share a floor, and accidents happen on the expensive square metres. Urine beds down in the foundation, beyond the range of retail products.
The residue must be flushed from the layer it occupies. Immersion carries clean water through the full construction, enzyme work finishes what the flush begins, and drying leaves no humidity trigger behind. Done in that order, the smell is gone rather than sleeping.

Odour Removal
River air is generous with moisture, and deep verandah rooms hold it. Over the years a rug quietly absorbs the house's whole atmosphere.
Wool and silk record every still, damp week at the base of the pile, and no ventilation reverses the recording. The full bath dissolves the accumulation and the rinse takes it away. Rug Steam Cleaning
Extraction with hot water for the household's synthetic support cast: the media room piece, the balcony-adjacent runner. Never the fine rugs, ever.
Steam is the correct economy for synthetic construction and an act of vandalism near hand knotted silk, so the assessment enforces the boundary without exceptions. Where steam fits, it is quick and well priced; where it cannot go, the bath does the work and we tell you why.

Rug Dry Cleaning

Some heirlooms declare through testing that immersion would be reckless, and we take the declaration seriously. Water Damage Restoration

Mould Rug Cleaning
Grey bloom on a rug stored between residences, or a stale patch where a cabinet shadows the floor. The colony's base is in the foundation.
Wiping mould moves it house to house across the pile. The antimicrobial bath destroys the colony outright and removes what sustained it, then through-drying withdraws the moisture required for any return. Early intervention usually means the rug comes back perfect. Apartments and hillside storerooms produce most of our cases.

Rug Moth Treatment
Moth larvae prosper in the undisturbed corners of formal rooms, under the credenza, behind the drapes, and fine wool is their preferred menu.
Every stage of the infestation ends in a single treatment, the wash clears all evidence from the pile, and the storage counsel that travels home safeguards the remainder of the collection. What has been damaged is documented and shown before any decision is asked of you. Formal rooms are prime territory, so check under furniture seasonally.

The first hotel in the district is believed to have been built by Gustavus Hamilton around 1865, and in a landscape of scattered riverside estates it became the reference for everything: directions, deliveries, and eventually the name of the place itself, formalised when the Town of Hamilton incorporated in 1904. Few Brisbane suburbs owe their name to a pub; fewer still became the city's most prestigious address afterwards.

Toorak House at 28 Annie Street was built about 1865 for James Robert Dickson: two storeys of sandstone, a crenellated tower, marble lions at the entrance and frescoed walls within. Dickson served as Premier of Queensland from 1898 to 1899, was knighted on Federation day in 1901 and died ten days later. The house later spent years housing the school that became St Margaret's, and has held a place on the Queensland Heritage Register since 1994.

The container architecture deliberately salutes the site's cargo past, and the surrounding Northshore precinct, in renewal since 2008 and served by CityCat since 2011, is slated to host the athletes village for the 2032 Games as planned at the time of writing.

Do you collect from Ascot and Clayfield on the same day?
Yes, the inner-north schedule gathers Hamilton and its neighbours in one run. Households coordinating with relatives nearby share the van, and the booking takes $20 off all rugs but the first.
Do apartment rugs really need washing if nobody wears shoes inside?
They do, on a slower clock. Sealed towers trap humidity that settles into pile, and fine dust arrives regardless of footwear policy. By year three or four the base of a Northshore rug holds a surprising archive, and a full wash clears it before it dulls the colour for good.
