In 1868 the Brisbane entrepreneur George Raff bought land in the district and called it Moray Field after his home county of Morayshire in Scotland. The name wandered on paper, appearing as Morayfields before settling into the single word from 1881 onward. So the suburb ringing with construction today still carries a homesick Scotsman's nod to the far side of the world.

Morayfield Shopping Centre opened on 14 April 1997, expanded in 2005, and has anchored the corridor's shopping ever since, drawing trade from Caboolture to Burpengary and out to the rural districts west. The strip along Morayfield Road grew up around it, which is how a suburb that was farmland within living memory came to handle the daily needs of tens of thousands of households.

How much does a Morayfield rug wash run?
Each rug is priced at inspection from its own size, fibre and condition, and that number is locked. Pickup and delivery on the far-northern run cost nothing extra. If a budget synthetic will not earn its wash back, we say that rather than take the job.
Is washing worth it for a rug that looks completely flattened?
