That is why a bright cordial spill can leave a stubborn yellow, orange or pink cast even after you have soaked up the liquid. The other problem is depth — sugary drinks soak quickly through the pile into the foundation of the rug, so what you see on the surface is only part of the stain. How to Treat a Fresh Juice Spill at Home

Never use hot water, and never soak the rug. If the mark is faint after gentle blotting, dry the spot flat away from heat and sunlight.
