From your front door to our Yatala facility and safely back again. This is the real process, not a quick spray.
Spilled water and now there is a yellow or brown mark?
You only meant to dab up a glass of water, and a day or two later a yellow or tan ring has bloomed where the spill was. The moment viscose gets wet the pile crushes and marks, and most people make it worse trying to tease the fibres back by hand. That mark has a name, cellulosic browning, and it is the single most common way a viscose rug is ruined. The fibre loses much of its strength when it is saturated, so any scrubbing shears the pile into a dull, fuzzy patch. Most general carpet cleaners use far too much water and agitation, and by the time the stain surfaces the damage is locked in. If you have a fresh watermark, stop, leave it, and call us before you make it worse.
A carpet cleaner with a van can ruin a fine rug
One-size-fits-all carpet machines are the number one cause of rug damage. Here is exactly what goes wrong.

Specialist care, not a quick spray
Your rug is collected and brought to our dedicated washing facility, where it is hand-assessed and cleaned by fibre, then dried under control. A deep, safe clean that protects the rug you love, backed by 29 years and a 7-day free re-wash guarantee.
Built to protect your rug
Where many cleaners turn viscose, art silk and bamboo silk away as too risky, it is our specialty. We identify and dye-test the fibre first, so your rug is handled by people who know exactly how it reacts to moisture, never treated like a carpet.
Your rug is gently hand-washed under controlled low moisture at our dedicated Yatala facility, never steam-cleaned, never flooded, never done in a van or on your floor. This is the only method that cleans viscose without browning or fuzzing it.
Our IICRC-certified technicians inspect your rug and give you a straight answer on what is realistically recoverable and what is not, before any cost begins. We will tell you honestly if a mark is stubborn or a rug is not worth cleaning.
Your rug is tagged at pickup and fully insured in our care, with chain of custody so your exact rug comes back to you. Every clean is backed by our 7-day free re-wash if anything is not right.

Common questions
Can a viscose rug actually be washed?
Yes, but never the way a normal rug is. Viscose is a cellulose fibre that weakens and browns when soaked, which is why many are labelled dry clean only. We use a controlled low-moisture hand process built specifically for viscose rather than a high-moisture machine wash, so your rug is cleaned safely by hand instead of flooded. It is exactly the kind of specialist work a delicate viscose rug needs.
Why is 100 percent viscose dry clean only?
Because the manufacturer is warning you that water is the enemy. Viscose is made from cellulose, the same family as paper, so it loses much of its strength when wet and browns as it dries. A dry clean label is really shorthand for keep it away from high-moisture machines. Our low-moisture hand wash respects that warning while still getting the rug genuinely clean, which a dry-clean-only label assumes is impossible.
Why is viscose hard to clean?
Viscose loses much of its strength when wet, so the very water that lifts dirt also weakens the pile, and any scrubbing shears it. It also browns easily and bleeds dye. That is why steam and aggressive carpet methods wreck it. We counter every one of those risks with dye-testing, controlled low moisture, gentle hand work and controlled drying.
Can viscose carpet get wet?
Only under careful control. A random spill is risky because the water draws sugars and dye to the surface and dries into a yellow watermark, and a soaked, scrubbed clean can flatten the pile for good. Controlled wet cleaning by a specialist is different: we manage exactly how much moisture goes in, dye-test first, then dry the rug flat under controlled conditions so browning never gets the chance to form.
How long will a viscose rug last?
Cared for properly, many years, but viscose is softer and more delicate than wool and shows wear faster in busy spots. The fastest way to shorten its life is a wrong clean: one high-moisture or steam wash can permanently fuzz and watermark it. A regular gentle specialist hand clean lifts grit that grinds at the fibres and keeps the sheen, so the rug stays a feature rather than something you hide under furniture.
