Common questions
Can a viscose rug be washed, or is it really dry clean only?
It can be washed with water, but only by hand and only the careful way, which is why so many viscose rugs are labelled dry clean only as a blanket warning. The real danger is uncontrolled moisture and slow drying, not water itself. We use a controlled low-moisture hand-wash with rapid managed drying and an acidic anti-browning treatment, so the fibres are never wet long enough to mark. We never steam-blast viscose and never wash it in a van at the kerb.
Why is viscose so hard to clean, and can it get wet at all?
Viscose is processed cellulose, so it behaves more like paper than like wool or true silk. Wet, it loses much of its strength, and if it dries slowly or unevenly it browns. So yes, it can get wet, but it needs low controlled moisture, no scrubbing and fast even drying. That precise, managed setting is exactly what an ordinary spill or a generic home clean cannot give it, and exactly what protects the rug.
I already have a yellow or brown water mark. Can you get it out?
Often, yes. That mark is cellulosic browning, where the cellulose has oxidised, and our wash includes a treatment formulated to reverse it while we keep moisture and drying tightly controlled. How much lifts depends on how long it has set and the dyes involved, so we give you an honest read on the likely result before we start rather than over-promising.
My viscose rug smells after a pet accident. Can you remove the odour, not just hide it?
Yes. Urine carries moisture and salts down into the backing, which is why a surface spray only masks it for a couple of weeks before it returns in the humidity. Our full-immersion hand wash flushes the foundation where the odour actually lives, using the same non-toxic, pet and child safe products. If anything lingers, the free re-wash means we put it right.
Is it worth cleaning rather than replacing, and why is there no price online?
