How much does rug cleaning cost, and is it worth it?
We quote by size, fibre and condition rather than a flat price, because a small synthetic rug and a large wool or handmade one are very different jobs. The quote is free, honest and obligation-free, and at inspection we tell you plainly if a rug is not worth cleaning. Most people find it well worth it: a tired rug pulled from storage comes back fresh instead of being replaced for far more. Add another rug and save $20 on each extra one.
How much does it cost to wash a large rug, like an 8x10?
A larger rug such as an 8x10 costs more than a small mat because there is more fibre to dust, immerse, rinse and dry, but we still price it by size, fibre and condition rather than guessing sight-unseen. You get an exact figure at the free inspection before any work begins, with no surprises. If you have several rugs, each additional one after the first is $20 off in the same booking.
Is it worth getting an area rug professionally cleaned instead of DIY?
For a synthetic mat a hire machine may be fine, but a hired machine cannot safely immersion-wash a wool, silk or handmade rug, and it will not lift set-in pet urine that has soaked into the backing. A full off-site hand-wash flushes the whole rug through, dries it properly and protects delicate dyes. That is the difference between a genuine refresh and a damp rug that smells stale again in a week.
