From your front door to our Yatala facility and safely back again. This is the real process, not a quick spray.
Why a red wine stain on a wool or oriental rug is the stubborn one
It is the moment every rug owner dreads. The glass tips, you grab a towel, and the harder you rub the wider and darker it spreads, because rubbing drives the pigment deep into the pile. Overnight it oxidises and sets, and people start to fear the rug is ruined. So you reach for what the forums swear by, a vinegar soak, Napisan paste, an Oxi spray, maybe even a dry clean, and it lightens but the shadow stays. Red wine carries both tannins and deep colour that grip wool and silk fast and refuse to fully let go. Worse, on a hand-knotted Persian or Turkish piece the home fixes that promise to make it vanish like magic can lock it in or bleach a pale ring around it. And once the room is closed up, that sour wine smell becomes the thing that bothers you most.

Specialist care, not a quick spray
Your rug is collected and brought to our dedicated washing facility, where it is hand-assessed and cleaned by fibre, then dried under control. A deep, safe clean that protects the rug you love, backed by 29 years and a 7-day free re-wash guarantee.
Built to protect your rug
Every DIY product swears the stain disappears like magic. We will not. Red wine lightens a long way but does not always vanish, so we give you a realistic verdict up front. Our reviews say it plainly: customers reward the cleaner who warned them what to expect over the one who over-promised.
Owners are told online never to let a general carpet cleaner near an oriental, wool or silk rug, and our reviewers chose us because the rug was not treated like a normal carpet job. We have washed rugs only for 29 years, IICRC-certified, the credential the rug-care guides tell you to look for.
We identify the fibre and test the dyes for colour-fastness before any water touches the wine, then hand-wash the whole rug by full immersion at our Yatala facility, never a steam van on your driveway. That reaches the wine and the smell deep in the backing, not just the surface a spray treats.
You never wrestle a heavy rug into a vehicle. We collect free from your Brisbane door and return it, with chain of custody tagged at pickup so your exact rug comes home. Products are non-toxic and pet and child safe, and a 7-day free re-wash plus your Australian Consumer Law rights mean handing over a treasured rug is not a gamble.

Common questions
Does red wine leave a permanent stain on a rug?
Not usually, but it is the stubborn one. Red wine carries tannins and deep pigment that bind to natural fibres, so it lightens a long way with proper treatment yet does not always vanish completely, and we tell you that before we start. Full immersion hand-washing lifts far more wine from deep in the pile than any surface dab, and most rugs come back greatly improved with the sour smell gone.
What removes old or dried-in red wine? Mine sat overnight.
It is rarely too late. A dried or overnight stain is harder than a fresh one because the pigment has oxidised and gripped the fibre, but immersion washing still pulls a great deal of wine from the deeper pile. The important thing now is to stop, leave it dry, and do not rub or heat it. Phone us on 1800 655 949, tell us the fibre and how long ago, and we will give you an honest read before you commit.
Why are red wine stains so hard to remove?
Red wine is really two stains in one. The tannins stain like tea, and the deep red and purple pigments grip natural fibres and keep darkening as they oxidise. On wool and silk that bond is tight, and the heat or scrubbing people use trying to shift it only sets it harder. That is why a surface spray lightens it but cannot finish the job. Flushing the whole fibre by immersion is what actually moves it.
I already tried vinegar, Napisan, Oxi, even a dry clean, and it is still there. Can you help?
Yes, and that is exactly when people reach us. Home remedies and a generic clean often lighten a wine stain without lifting it, especially on wool, silk or a hand-knotted rug, and a clothing dry cleaner is not set up for a heavy rug. Full immersion hand-washing reaches the wine deep in the pile and backing that surface treatments cannot. We will look at what has been tried and tell you honestly how much further we can take it.
How do professionals remove red wine, and how do I get a big rug to you?
We do not steam-clean it in place. We inspect and identify the fibre, test the dyes for colour-fastness, then hand-wash the whole rug by full immersion at our Yatala facility so the wine and the smell flush right through, not just dabbed off the top, then return it fully dry. You do not move it yourself, because free pickup and delivery across Brisbane is included. Standard turnaround is about 7 days, with 48-hour available on request.
